An Efficient Semianalytical Method for Hypersingularity Treatment Over Curved Patches
Selcuk, G.; Koç, Seyit Sencer (2017-05-01)
In this communication, we propose an efficient method to evaluate hypersingular integrals defined on curved surfaces. First an exact expression for hypersingular kernel is derived by projecting the integral on curvilinear element on a flat surface. Next singularity subtraction employed, where the singular core is hypersingular and the remaining part is weakly singular. The singular core is evaluated analytically using finite part interpretation and the remaining weakly singular part is evaluated numerically...
An efficient method for fundamental frequency estimation of periodic signals with harmonics
Çelebi, Utku; Candan, Çağatay; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2020-8)
A computationally efficient method for the fundamental frequency estimation of a group of harmonically related complex sinusoids is given. To this aim, an efficient frequency estimation method for single tone complex sinusoids is adapted to the harmonic frequency estimation problem. The main idea of the suggested Fast Fourier Transform based method is the frequency estimation of individual complex sinusoids after the removal of the interference due to other harmonics. After several iterations of estimation ...
An efficient HW&SW design of H.264 video compression, storage and playback on FPGA devices for hand-held thermal imaging systems
Gunay, Omer; Ozsarac, Ismail; Kamışlı, Fatih (2017-04-11)
Video recording is an essential property of new generation military imaging systems. Playback of the stored video on the same device is also desirable as it provides several operational benefits to end users. Two very important constraints for many military imaging systems, especially for hand-held devices and thermal weapon sights, are power consumption and size. To meet these constraints, it is essential to perform most of the processing applied to the video signal, such as preprocessing, compression, sto...
An Efficient Numerical Solution Method for Reflectarrays of Varying Element Sizes
Ercil, Erdinc; Alatan, Lale; Aydın Çivi, Hatice Özlem (2015-12-01)
A novel method is developed for the efficient solution of reflectarrays of variable size elements. The method relies on using characteristic modes (CM) as macro basis functions and reusing the dominant CM of the resonant element for all elements in the reflectarray. This utilization leads to obtaining a reduced matrix system where the number of unknowns is drastically decreased. As far as the far field is concerned, accurate results are achieved even with a single CM. The accuracy is attained owing to prese...
