Part-Aware Distance Fields for Easy Inbetweening in Arbitrary Dimensions
Tarı, Zehra Sibel (2013-07-01)
The motivation for this work is to explore a possible computer graphics application for a part aware distance field developed recently. Computing in-between shapes is chosen as a toy application. Rather than presenting a highly competitive scheme which continuously morphs one shape into another, our aim is to investigate whether in-betweens may be defined as ordinary averages once a proper shape representation (e.g. a part aware field) is established. The constructions are independent of the dimension of th...
Marching distance functions for smooth control of hyperbolic grids
Durmus, G; Kavsaoglu, MS (2000-10-01)
The smooth control of hyperbolic grids is achieved by using marching distance functions. The marching distance can be expressed as a function of grid control. The derivative expressions of the linearized hyperbolic equations are approximated by second order central differences.
Axial vector transition form factors of N -> Delta in QCD
Küçükarslan, Ayşe; Özdem, Ulaş; Özpineci, Altuğ (Elsevier BV, 2016-12)
The isovector axial vector form factors of N -> Delta transition are calculated by employing Light-cone QCD sum rules. The analytical results are analyzedby both the conventional method, and also by a Monte Carlo based approach which allows one to scan all of the parameter space. The predictions are also compared with the results in the literature, where available. Although the MonteCarlo analysis predicts large uncertainties in the predicted results, the predictions obtained by the conventional analysis ar...
Shape-invariance approach and Hamiltonian hierarchy method on the Woods-Saxon potential for l not equal 0 states
Berkdemir, Cueneyt; BERKDEMİR, Ayşe; Sever, Ramazan (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2008-03-01)
An analytically solvable Woods-Saxon potential for l not equal 0 states is presented within the framework of Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics formalism. The shape-invariance approach and Hamiltonian hierarchy method are included in calculations by means of a translation of parameters. The approximate energy spectrum of this potential is obtained for l not equal 0 states, applying the Woods-Saxon square approximation to the centrifugal barrier term of the Schrodinger equation.
Real-Time Speed and Position Estimation Using Rotor Slot Harmonics
Keysan, Ozan; Ertan, Hulusi Bülent (2013-05-01)
It is well known that slotting harmonics exist in most of the electrical machines. So far, these harmonics are mainly identified using spectral estimation techniques. However, this approach requires long sampling and computation periods. In this study, a novel speed and position estimation method based on identification of rotor slot harmonics (RSH) that does not require any kind of spectral analysis is proposed. The required information is extracted by demodulating the information available in an external ...
