Matching circuit design using ant colony optimization method
Demir, Şimşek (2003-09-01)
The Touring Ant Colony Optimization (TACO) method was applied to transmission line impedance matching problem. Design examples revealed that the optimization method yields almost equivalently successful results compared with direct design methods.
SETTLING KINETICS OF CHAMPAGNE YEAST
ARIKAN, O; OZILGEN, M (Elsevier BV, 1992-09-01)
Settling kinetics of champagne yeast were studied with 0.01, 0.05, and 0.10 m NaCl, CaCl2, AlCl3, and 1.00 +/- 0.01 OD660 (optical density at 660 nm) initial yeast concentration at pH 1. In the suspensions with 0.01 M NaCl, the pH of the medium varied between 1 and 3, and the initial yeast concentration changed between 0.74 and 1.25 OD660. Analysis of the data showed that the settling phenomena occurred in two steps: (i) establishment of the diffuse double layer to overcome repulsion, hence achievement of c...
Moving object detection with supervised learning methods
Köksal, Aybora; Alatan, Abdullah Aydın; İnce, Kutalmış Gökalp; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2021-9-7)
In this thesis, single target object detection problem is examined. Object detection is a problem that aims defining all of the objects of interest with their pre-defined classes in an image, or in a series of images. The main objective of this thesis is to exploit spatio-temporal information for performance enhancement during moving object detection. To this extent, modern object detection algorithms which are based on CNN architectures are analyzed. Based on this analysis, state-of-the-art techniques whic...
