X-ray physics and computerized tomography simulation using java and flash
Şık, Ayhan Serkan; Gençer, Nevzat Güneri; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2003)
For the education of X-ray imaging, having a detailed knowledge on the interaction of radiation with matter is very important. Also the generation and detection concepts of the X-ray have to be grasped well. Sometimes it is not easy to visualize the interactions and assess the scheme in quantum physics level for the medical doctors and the engineers who have not studied on the modern physics in an appropriate level. This thesis aims to visualize these interactions, X-ray generation and detection, and comput...

X-Doped (X = C, N, F, P) ZnO Sheet: Density Functional Theory Calculations
Kökten, Hatice (2015-03-01)
The structural and electronic properties of honeycomb-like zinc oxide sheet has been investigated by performing density functional theory calculations. Carbon, Nitrogen, Fluorine and Phosphorus atom doped form of ZnO sheets have been considered for calculations as well as their defect free forms. All systems under consideration have been fully optimized. The substitution atoms have been replaced on the oxygen site in the neutral charge state. All the calculations have been repeated for different cell sizes....
X(3872) and its heavy quark spin symmetry partners in QCD sum rules
Mutuk, Halil; Sarac, Yasemin; Gumus, Hasan; Özpineci, Altuğ (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2018-11-08)
X(3872) presents many surprises after its discovery more than ten years ago. Understanding its properties is crucial to understand the spectrum of possible exotic mesons. In this work, X(3872) meson and its heavy quark spin symmetry (HQSS) partners (including the mesons in the bottom sector) are studied within the QCD Sum Rules approach using a current motivated by the molecular picture of X(3872). We predict four heavy partners to X(3872) and bottomonium with the masses and J(PC) quantum numbers. Obtained ...
