This study aimed to investigate emotional regulation strategies as predictors of achievement. Data were collected from 715 ninth grade students through The Emotional Regulation During Test-Taking Scale (ERT) developed by Schutz et al. (2004). Also students were asked to report their grade point averages. The findings of hierarchical multiple regression analysis indicated that testing problem efficacy and importance (cognitive appraising processes) and wishful thinking (emotion focusing process) were statistically significant predictors of achievement. The research findings will be discussed with regard to the literature on students emotion regulation, and educational implications will be outlined.
