The process of m atching data represented in two different data models is a long - standing issue in the exchange of data between different software systems. While the traditional manual matching approach cannot meet today 's demands on data exchange, research shows that a fully automated generic approach for model matching is not likely, and generic semi-automated approaches are not easy to implement. In this paper, we present an approach that focuses on matching data models in a specific domain. The approach combines a basic model matching approach and a version matching approach to deduce new matching rules to enable data transfer between two evolving data models.

Derivation of Transcriptional Regulatory Relationships by Partial Least Squares Regression
Tan, Mehmet; Polat, Faruk; Alhajj, Reda (2009-11-04)
As the number of genes in a transcriptional regulatory network is large and the number of samples in biological data types is usually small, there is a need for integrating multiple data types for reverse engineering these networks. In this paper, we propose a method to integrate microarray gene expression, ChIP-chip and transcription factor binding motif data sets in a partial least squares regression model to derive transcription factors (TFs) gene interactions. Both single and synergistic effects of TFs ...
Real-time 2D/3D display of dted maps and evaluation of interpolation algorithms
Demir, Ali; Coşar, Ahmet; Department of Geodetic and Geographical Information Technologies (2010)
In Geographic Information System (GIS) applications, aster data constitutes one of the major data types. The displaying of the raster data has an important part in GIS applications. Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED) is one of the raster data types, which is used as the main data source in this thesis. The DTED data is displayed on the screen as digital images as a pixel value, which is represented in gray scale, corresponding to an elevation (texel). To draw the images, the texel values are mostly inter...
Towards verification of component compositions incorporating variability
Kaya, Muhammed Çağrı; Suloglu, Selma; Doğru, Ali Hikmet (null; 2015-11-05)
A new approach to formally verify component compositions incorporating variability is proposed which eases variability-intensive component-oriented system development by reducing the complexity of verification. A step by step model transformation approach from XCOSEML to Featured Transition System (FTS) is used which automates generation of FTS models, namely required feature model of the variable component composition and its fPromela specification. XCOSEML is a domain specific language that establishes a ...
Improving the scalability of ILP-based multi-relational concept discovery system through parallelization
Mutlu, Ayşe Ceyda; Karagöz, Pınar; Kavurucu, Yusuf (2012-03-01)
Due to the increase in the amount of relational data that is being collected and the limitations of propositional problem definition in relational domains, multi-relational data mining has arisen to be able to extract patterns from relational data. In order to cope with intractably large search space and still to be able to generate high-quality patterns. ILP-based multi-relational data mining and concept discovery systems employ several search strategies and pattern limitations. Another direction to cope w...
Modeling, inference and optimization of regulatory networks based on time series data
Weber, Gerhard Wilhelm; DEFTERLİ, ÖZLEM; ALPARSLAN GÖK, Sırma Zeynep; Kropat, Erik (2011-05-16)
In this survey paper, we present advances achieved during the last years in the development and use of OR, in particular, optimization methods in the new gene-environment and eco-finance networks, based on usually finite data series, with an emphasis on uncertainty in them and in the interactions of the model items. Indeed, our networks represent models in the form of time-continuous and time-discrete dynamics, whose unknown parameters we estimate under constraints on complexity and regularization by variou...
