Bu çalisma Kadinlara Yönelik Psikolojik Siddet Ölçegini (Psychological Maltreatment of Women Inventory; Tolman, 1989) Türkçeye uyarlamak ve bu ölçegin psikometrik özelliklerini incelemek amaciyla gerçeklestirilmistir. Bu çalismanin sonunda Türkiye’de hem kadinlar hem de erkekler için psikolojik siddet magduriyetini ölçmeye yarayacak geçerli ve güvenilir bir envanterin elde edilmesi ve psikolojik siddetin cinsiyet, yas, egitim düzeyi, çalisma durumu, evlilik süresi ve çocuk sayisi gibi demografik degiskenler açisindan incelenmesi hedeflenmistir. Çalismada kesitsel korelasyonel tarama modeli kullanilmistir. Tesadüfi olmayan örnekleme yöntemlerinden yargisal örnekleme, kolayda örnekleme ve kartopu örneklemesi yoluyla 18-65 yas arasi (M=37.30, SD=8.66) 505 evli katilimciya ulasilmistir. Bu katilimcilardan %46’si kadin (n=234), %54’ü erkektir (n=271). Katilimcilara verilen ankette cinsiyet, yas, egitim düzeyi, çalisma durumu, evlilik süresi ve çocuk sayisi ile ilgili sorularin yani sira Tolman (1989) tarafindan gelistirilen ve mevcut çalismada Türkçeye uyarlanan Kadinlara Yönelik Psikolojik Siddet Ölçegi (KYPSÖ) maddelerine yer verilmistir. Önce KYPSÖ’nin psikometrik özellikleri incelenmis, daha sonra korelasyon analizi ve t-test yoluyla ölçek skorlari demografik degiskenler açisindan incelenmistir.
