This study aims to evaluate Teaching Principles and methods’ course in teacher training programmes in scope of Hammond’s evaluation cube. The study which is a mixed method is designed as concurrent triangulation strategy. Quantitative and qualitative data are collected simultaneously and are combined both during analysis process and writing findings. This study was carried out with 30 second grade students who study in the department of Counselling and Guidance in a state university of Turkey and take Teaching Principles and methods’ course. Data collection tools were consisted of a multiple choice test, semi-structured interview form, personal information form and observation form. According to the quantitative findings; it is concluded that teaching is effective in students’ acquiring cognitive aims of the course. According to the qualitative findings, it is found that students are aware of the importance of the course, have problems in getting continuous and qualified feedback and not having accustomed to group studies. Interviews and observations’ data show such a perception that students’ success in Introduction to Education sciences and Developmental Psychology has an effect on success in this course. It is also concluded that content of the course can help teacher candidates to acquire useful and practical knowledge and skills that teacher candidates will use in their classes. However, it is thought that this course is given in only one term period, it can limit the activities done in an appropriate way. It is recommended that by having done similar research studies with teaching profession courses can help to review and adjust the structures of those courses constantly.
