Heterotopic practice of space: taksim gezi park revisited
Işıklılar, Damla; Barlas, Mehmet Adnan; Urban Design in City and Regional Planning Department (2016)
The primary aim of this thesis is the exploration of the term “heterotopia” coined by Foucault, in an urban design framework. With this aim, this thesis will trace the spatial urban usage and will demonstrate by exemplifications; how an open ended concept can be applied in an urban space, albeit there are no strict definitions, descriptions and directions in the related literature about how heterotopic thoughts can actually be injected to an urban space. In postmodern urban life, many different cases can be...
Heterogeneous Sensor Data Fusion for Target Classification Using Adaptive Distance Function
Atıcı, Bengü; Karasakal, Esra; Karasakal, Orhan (Springer, London/Berlin , 2021-04-01)
Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) systems are used as decisionsupport systems to classify the potential targets in military applications. Thesesystems are composed of four phases, which are selection of sensors, preprocessingof radar data, feature extraction and selection, and processing of features toclassify potential targets. In this study, the classification phase of an ATR systemhaving heterogeneous sensors is considered. We propose novel multiple criteriaclassification methods based on the modified D...

Heterogeneous Effects of Financial Indicators on Firms' Exports: Evidence from Turkish Manufacturing Firms
Şahin, Yavuz Selim; Akbostancı Özkazanç, Elif; Department of Economics (2022-12-21)

The panel data estimations for the period 2010-2020 suggest that improvement in the firm-level financial indicators have stimulating effects on the firms’ exports. More specifically, it is found that profitability and liquidity ratios are positively associated with firms’ exports, while increases ...
Heterogeneously informed group decision making under expert advice
Özer, Nergiz; Gönül, M. Sinan; Department of Business Administration (2015)
Decision processes may be completed individually or coordinated by groups of people. Unstructured group decision making have its very own dynamics which are different than the processes completed individually. This thesis aims to extend the accumulation of knowledge on group decision processes. An experiment with three setting will be used to reveal advice utilization and confidence characteristics in a group receiving advice. All of the settings are composed of an individual decision making step and a grou...
