Comments on "Detection of signals of unknown duration by multiple energy detectors"
SİPAHİGİL, OKTAY; Çiloğlu, Tolga (Elsevier BV, 2014-01-01)
In the 2010 paper entitled "Detection of signals of unknown duration by multiple energy detectors", a procedure to detect signals of unknown duration under Gaussian noise has been proposed and probability of detection and probability of false alarm expressions have been derived. This note indicates an error made at the beginning of these derivations.
Comments on "Propagation Modeling Over Irregular Terrain by the Improved Two-Way Parabolic Equation Method"
Ozgun, Ozlem; Apaydin, Gokhan; Kuzuoğlu, Mustafa; Sevgi, Levent (2014-07-01)
The above paper [1] is about the two-way split-step parabolic equation method (2W-SSPE) over irregular terrain, and claims that they have developed the “improved” version of the 2W-SSPE approach that has been proposed and validated by us in literature [2]-[11]. The paper [1] claims to derive the 2W-PE directly from 2D Helmholtz equation. They do this by listing and explaining equations (1)-(9). The authors needed to state that this is quite different from the formulation given in Levy's book (reference [9] ...
COMMENTS ON SLOW ROTATIONAL PERTURBATIONS OF ROBERTSON-WALKER UNIVERSES
BAYIN, SS (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1989-11-01)
A mistake in a recent paper by Singh on slow rotational perturbations of Robertson-Walker universes is pointed out.
Remarks on the minimal vectorial standard model
Anber, Mohamed M.; Aydemir, Ufuk; Donoghue, John F.; Pais, Preema (2009-07-01)
We explore the available parameter space of the minimal vectorial standard model. In this theory, the gauge currents are initially vectorial but the Higgs sector produces chiral mass eigenstates, leading to a set of heavy right-handed mirror particles. We describe the phenomenology of the residual parameter space and suggest that the model will be readily tested at the LHC.
