Dependence Analysis with Normally Distributed Aggregate Claims in Stop Loss Insurance
Mert, Özenç Murat; Kestel, Sevtap Ayşe (null; 2017-12-08)
The reinsurance contracts in the insurance market have been playing an important role in the last couple of decades. One of the most important reinsurance contracts is the stop-loss reinsurance. It has an interesting property from the insurer point of view such that it is optimal if the criterion of minimizing the variance of the cost of the insurer is used. The word ‘optimality’ takes many researcher’s attention so that optimal reinsurance contracts under different assumptions have been investigated for de...

Dependence on pseudorapidity and on centrality of charged hadron production in PbPb collisions at root s(NN)=2.76 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2011-08-01)
A measurement is presented of the charged hadron multiplicity in hadronic PbPb collisions, as a function of pseudorapidity and centrality, at a collision energy of 2.76 TeV per nucleon pair. The data sample is collected using the CMS detector and a minimum-bias trigger, with the CMS solenoid off. The number of charged hadrons is measured both by counting the number of reconstructed particle hits and by forming hit doublets of pairs of layers in the pixel detector. The two methods give consistent results. Th...
Utility Based Resolution of Data Inconsistencies
MOTRO, AMIHAI; ANOKHIN, PHILIPP; Acar, Aybar Can (2004-07-18)
A virtual database system is software that provides unified access to multiple information sources. If the sources are overlapping in their contents and independently maintained, then the likelihood of inconsistent answers is high. Solutions are often based on ranking (which sorts the different answers according to recurrence) and on fusion (which synthesizes a new value from the different alternatives according to a specific formula). In this paper we argue that both methods are flawed, and we offer altern...
Rule Based Axiomatic Design Theory Guidance for Software Development
Toğay, Cengiz; Canıaz, Emre Selman; Doğru, Ali Hikmet (IEEE; 2012-07-16)
This research proposes a rule-based approach to system development with Axiomatic Design Theory. The basic complexity is the resolution of the constraints across the Feature Model and the Design parameters addressed through the Axiomatic Design such as the design matrix and associated components. A rule based approach effectively can support the development process during the configuration of the variability, hence the development of the product. This work can be classified as a product engineering method w...
