Cleaner Energy Production Technologies For Fossil Fuels
Aksoy, Ayşegül; Atımtay, Aysel (Springer, 1995-01-01)
In recent years, the development of new technologies to generate clean energy has been a great concern for pollution prevention. There is an increasing demand in the world for energy due to industrialization. This increasing demand forces the scientists to investigate new technologies for production of electricity in a more efficient way. Development of more efficient processes for energy production also aims the process to be cleaner from environmental point of view.
Washout filter based control for the Hodgkin-Huxley nerve cell dynamics
Doruk, Resat Oezguer (2010-01-01)
In this work we present a washout filler based control approach for stabilizing the oscillations in Hodgkin-Huxley type neurons. The oscillations occur due to the bifurcations that arise from the potassium and sodium channel conductance deviations. The MATCONT toolbox software environment was used for analysis of the bifurcation points in conjunction with MATLAB. The simulations of the Hodgkin-Huxley (HH) model at those points are provided to validate the results obtained from, the MATCONT software. Then a ...
Cleaner energy scenarios for building clusters in campus areas based on the Rational Exergy Management Model
Kılkış, Şiir; Wang, Cong; Bjork, Folke; Martinac, Ivo (2017-07-01)
Principles based on the quality of energy, namely exergy, can assist in attaining a more efficient and cleaner energy supply structure. This paper analyzes two building clusters in campus areas based on a stepwise approach with four steps according to the Rational Exergy Management Model. The clusters involve 8 buildings at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and those in the Albano district that is a former industrial site and will become a joint campus area in Stockholm. The energy supply for the campus...
Cleaner production opportunity assessment for a milk processing facility
Ozbay, A.; Demirer, Göksel Niyazi (Elsevier BV, 2007-09-01)
Possible cleaner production (CP) opportunities for a milk processing facility were examined in this study. The CP concept and its key tools of implementation were used to assess the potential CP opportunities in the facility studied. The general production process and its resulting environmental loads were investigated by taking possible CP opportunities as the basis of study. The methodology developed for CP opportunity assessment in the milk processing facility covered two major steps: preparation of chec...
