Novel RDX-Based Cage and Cage-Like Nitramines
Türker, Burhan Lemi; Bayar, Caglar Celik; Turhan, Hamza (Informa UK Limited, 2013-10-01)
1,3,5-Trinitroperhydro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX)-based cage and cage-like nitramines in which two RDX molecules are linked to each other via three and two carbon atoms, respectively, have been investigated computationally using density functional theory (DFT) at a B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) theoretical level. The study focused on finding out how the quantum chemical and detonation properties of RDX change if two RDX molecules come together and form these structures. Both considered nitramines exhibited higher heats of for...
Novel, simple, and Q-independent self oscillation loop designed for vibratory MEMS gyroscopes
Eminoglu, B.; Alper, S.E.; Akın, Tayfun (2011-06-09)
This paper presents a novel self oscillation loop with a very simple architecture that is independent of quality factor (Q) variations in packaged vibratory MEMS gyroscopes, providing identical start-up performance at different ambient conditions. The new self-oscillation loop circuitry has been fabricated in a 0.6μm CMOS process, tested with a fabricated MEMS gyroscope, and demonstrated start-up characteristics without any overshoot and with a settling time of only 28msec. An angle random walk value of 0.0...
Novel poly(2,5-dithienylpyrrole) (PSNS) derivatives functionalized with azobenzene, coumarin and fluorescein chromophore units: spectroelectrochemical properties and electrochromic device applications
Yigit, Deniz; Hacioglu, Serife O.; GÜLLÜ, Mustafa; Toppare, Levent Kamil (2015-01-01)
Three novel 2,5-dithienylpyrrole (SNS) derivatives containing strong chromophore units such as azobenzene, coumarin and fluorescein were synthesized to investigate the effects of chromophore substituents on the electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical properties of resulting polymers. Electrochemical and optoelectronic characteristics of the homopolymers, poly(1-(2-(4-(phenyldiazenyl)phenoxy)ethyl)-2,5di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrrole) (PTPTAz), poly(4-(2-(2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrrol-1-yl)ethoxy)-2H-chrome...
Novel Inkjet-Printed Chipless Tags for Radio-Frequency-Identification Applications
Cetin, Elif; Sailin, M. Baris; Ergül, Özgür Salih (2019-09-01)
In radio-frequency-identification (RFID) systems, chipless tags, i.e., tags without microchips, are desirable in comparison to their more common counterparts involving microchips. This is not merely due to the extra costs of microchips but also due to relatively difficult mounting processes to attach microchips onto metallic antennas, which in fact becomes challenging if tags are produced via inkjet printing methods. In the context of paper-based inkjet printing, absence of microchips is also attractive for...
Novel multi-band metamaterials in microwave region with applications in antennas
Küçüksarı, Öznur; Sayan, Gönül; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2014)
This dissertation is focused on the design, fabrication, and characterization of multi-band metamaterials in microwave region with novel applications in antennas with the following outcomes: In the first part of dissertation, important concepts that have to be considered during the design, simulation and characterization of planar metamaterial arrays are investigated. All investigations are performed using the planar dual band nested U-ring resonator (2-NURR) metamaterial array that is a novel exemplar of t...
