Impacts of extreme meteorological events on metabolism of Lake Eymir using high frequency automated lake observation station
Tolunay, Duygu; Beklioğlu, Meryem; Department of Biology (2018)
One year measurements between September 2015 and August 2016 from high frequency automated lake observation station were collected to estimate metabolism of Lake Eymir based on diel oxygen changes. Estimated gross primary production (GPP), respiration (RES) and net ecosystem production (NEP) were used to assess the role of Lake Eymir in carbon cycling and the response of lake ecosystem to extreme meteorological events. In addition to compare different approaches seven distinct k600 methods and five metaboli...
Cyclic Large Strain and Induced Pore Pressure Models for Saturated Clean Sands
Çetin, Kemal Önder (American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), 2012-03-01)
Semiempirical probabilistic models are described to assess cyclic large strain and induced excess pore-water pressure responses of fully saturated clean sands. For this purpose, available cyclic simple shear and triaxial tests were compiled and studied. The resulting r(u) versus gamma, and gamma versus N databases are composed of 101 and 84 cyclic test data, respectively. Key parameters of the proposed r(u) and gamma models are defined as critical shear strain, relative density, effective confining stress, ...
Variations Of Choroidal And Retinal Thickness Measurements Analyzed By Enhanced Depth Imaging Optical Coherence Tomography In Uveitis
Gurses, Ozlem; Karaismailoglu, Eda (2016-09-01)
Purpose : Choroidal thickness (CT) is considered a promising parameter to monitor the severity of inflammation. We hypothesize that inflammation of the iris and ciliary body in anterior uveitis might affect the CT, and inflammation of the choroid in intermediate, posterior and panuveitis might affect the retinal thickness.(RT) Methods : Prospective case-control study of 32 eyes with anterior, 5 eyes with intermediate, 24 eyes with posterior, 24 eyes with panuveitis, and 51 control eyes were performed with ...

Behaviour of AAC infilled RC frames under in plane and out of plane seismic demands
Binici, Barış; Aldemir, Alper; Canbay, Erdem; Yakut, Ahmet (2017-11-24)
Observations after several earthquakes revealed that infill walls may significantly alter the response of reinforced concrete frame buildings. They increase the lateral stiffness and strength of frames subjected to low to moderate in-plane seismic excitation, however they may experience sudden failure under the combined action of in-and out-of-plane seismic demands. Autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) is a popular choice of infill wall material due to its advantages such as light weight, good insulation and h...
