GEZGIN & GEZGIN-2: Adaptive real-time image processing subsystems for earth observing small satellites
Ismailoglu, N.; Benderli, O.; Yesil, S.; Sever, Ramazan; Okcan, B.; Sengul, O.; Oktem, Rusen (2006-06-18)
GEZGIN and GEZGIN-2 are real-time multispectral image processing subsystems developedfor BILSAT-1 and RASAT satellites respectively, the first two earth observing small satellites of Turkey. Main functionality of these subsystems is to compress in real-time multi-spectral images received concurrently from imagers, using JPEG2000 Image Compression algorithm. The compression features are controlled through user-supplied parameters uploaded in-orbit, so that the compression rate could be adapted to bandwidth, ...
SAGAscape: Simulating Resource Exploitation Strategies in Iron Age to Hellenistic Communities in Southwest Anatolia
Boogers, Stef; Daems, Drıes (2022-1-01)
In this paper, we present SAGAscape, an agent-based model of resource exploitation and subsistence strategies to explore the human impact of hilltop settlements on the natural environment in the study area of Sagalassos (southwest Turkey) during the Iron Age to Hellenistic period. Using realistic GIS data and empirical settlement patterns as input, we simulate communities with resource exploitation strategies for three main resources: food, wood and clay. The model produces results consistent with empirical...
Distyryl boradiazaindacemes as red and nir switches
İşbaşar, Güllü Ceyda; Akkaya, Engin Umut; Department of Chemistry (2007)
Two novel distyryl-boradiazaindacene dyes with dimethylaminophenyl and pyridyl appendages, display opposite spectral shifts on protonation with trifluoroacetic acid in organic solvents. This bidirectional switching of the dyes can be shown to be directly related to ICT donor and acceptor characteristics of the dyes. Thus, it has been demonstrated that the switching behavior of the red to NIR emitting dyes can be altered by simple structural modifications.

ZEKI: unsupervised zero-day exploit kit intelligence
Suren, Emre (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, 2020-01-01)
Over the last few years, exploit kits (EKs) have become the de facto medium for large-scale spread of malware. Drive-by download is the leading method that is widely used by EK flavors to exploit web-based client-side vulnerabilities. Their principal goal is to infect the victim's system with a malware. In addition, EK families evolve quickly, where they port zero-day exploits for brand new vulnerabilities that were never seen before and for which no patch exists. In this paper, we propose a novel approach ...
