Improved contact resistivity methods based on Cox-Strack and 4 point probe
Tsoi, Konstantin; Yerci, Selçuk; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2021-6)
Contact resistivity (c) of metal-semiconductor or conductive layer-semiconductor in the solar cells can limit their performance if not treated with care. It is, therefore, of great importance to be able to accurately measure rc for its optimization purposes. Many methodologies have been developed for this purpose. In this thesis, various methods for extracting rc are investigated. Namely, Transfer Length, Cox and Strack, four-point probe methods are discussed in detail. Cox and Strack and four-point probe ...

New Statistical Randomness Tests Based on Length of Runs

Random sequences and random numbers constitute a necessary part of cryptography. Many cryptographic protocols depend on random values. Randomness is measured by statistical tests and hence security evaluation of a cryptographic algorithm deeply depends on statistical randomness tests. In this work we focus on statistical distributions of runs of lengths one, two, and three. Using these distributions we state three new statistical randomness tests. New tests use chi(2) distribution and, therefore, exact valu...
Improvements to compressible Euler methods for low-Mach number flows
Sabanca, M; Brenner, G; Alemdaroglu, N (Wiley, 2000-09-30)
In the present study improvements to numerical algorithms for the solution of the compressible Euler equations at low Mach numbers are investigated. To solve flow problems for a wide range of Mach numbers, from the incompressible limit to supersonic speeds, preconditioning techniques are frequently employed. On the other hand, one can achieve the same aim by using a suitably modified acoustic damping method. The solution algorithm presently under consideration is based on Roe's approximate Riemann solver [R...
