Helicity-Multiplexed Hologram via All-Dielectric Metasurface in the Visible Domain
Ansari, Muhammad Afnan; Mehmood, Muhammad Qasim; Waseem, Muhammad Hamza; Kim, Inki; Mahmood, Nasir; Tauqeer, Tauseef; Yerci, Selçuk; Rho, Junsuk (2019-05-01)
A transmission type helicity-multiplexed metasurface hologram is demonstrated at wavelength of 633 nm using low loss hydrogenated amorphous silicon to achieve the pragmatic features of metasurfaces in the integrated photonic circuits. (C) 2019 The Author(s)
Helical hollow fibers via rope coiling: Effect of spinning conditions on geometry and membrane morphology
Yucel, Hazal; Çulfaz Emecen, Pınar Zeynep (Elsevier BV, 2018-08-01)
Helical hollow fiber membranes from poly(ether sulfone) were spun via dry-wet spinning, making use of the liquid rope coiling phenomenon. The polymer solution composition was changed by varying the coagulation value and adding PEG400 as pore former. The bore liquid composition, outer coagulation bath temperature, air gap, polymer dope and bore liquid flowrates were varied to map the conditions where helical fibers form. It was observed that increasing air gap changed fiber geometry from straight to helical....
Hexagonal- Pixel Surfaces for the Reconfiguration of Inkjet-Printed Antennas
Guler, Sadri; Ceylan, Hasan Akin; Ergül, Özgür Salih (2018-11-02)
We present a new method for the reconfiguration of inkjet-printed antennas to make them operate at different frequencies while matching to different impedances other than originally designed. Suitable antennas are modified by replacing conventional ground planes with patterned structures involving optimal arrangements of hexagonal cells. The cells are switched on or off, while the optimal distributions are found via genetic algorithms to reach desired characteristics. A full-wave solver is used for the requ...
