Motivated by possible scalar-leptoquark explanations of the recently reported B-decay anomalies, we investigate whether the required leptoquarks can be accommodated within models based on noncommutative geometry (NCG). The models considered have the gauge structure of Pati-Salam models, SU(4) x SU(2)(L) x SU(2)(R), with gauge coupling unification at a single scale. In one of the models, we find a unique scalar leptoquark with quantum numbers (3, 1, -1/3)(321), originating from a complex multiplet (6, 1, 1)(422), which can potentially explain the B-decay anomalies if its mass is on the order of a few TeV. The unification of couplings can be realized with the inclusion of a single step of intermediate symmetry breaking. The scalar leptoquark under consideration does not contribute to proton decay due to the absence of diquark couplings, as dictated by the underlying noncommutative geometry.

B-s ->tau(+)tau(-) decay in the general two Higgs doublet model
Iltan, EO; Turan, Gürsevil (2002-11-01)
We study the exclusive decay B-s --> tau(+)tau(-) in the general two Higgs doublet model. We analyse the dependencies of the branching ratio on the model parameters, including the leading order QCD corrections. We found that there is an enhancement in the branching ratio, especially for r(tb) = (xi) over bar (U)(N,tt)/(xi) over bar (D)(N,bb) > 1 case. Further, the neutral Higgs effects are detectable for large values of the parameter (xi) over bar (D)(N,tautau).
ON GENERALIZED LOCAL SYMMETRIES OF THE SO(2,1) INVARIANT NONLINEAR SIGMA-MODEL
BASKAL, S; ERIS, A; SATIR, A (1994-12-19)
The symmetries and associated conservation laws of the SO(2,1) invariant non-linear sigma model equations in 1+1 dimensions are investigated. An infinite family of generalized local symmetries is presented and the uniqueness of these solutions is discussed.
The mu -> e gamma and tau ->mu gamma decays with the inclusion of Lorentz and CPT violating effects
Iltan, EO (2003-06-01)
We study the Lorentz and CPT violating effects on the branching ratio and the CP violating asymmetry of the lepton flavor violating interactions mu --> egamma and tau --> mugamma, in the model III version of the two Higgs doublet model. Here we consider that the Lorentz and CPT violating effects exist in the QED part of the interactions and enter into expressions in the lepton propagators and in the lepton-photon vertex. We observe that there exists a non-zero CP asymmetry. However, the Lorentz and CPT viol...
C D-0(K, E) and C D-omega(K, E)-spaces as Banach lattices
Alpay, S; Ercan, Z (2000-01-01)
Banach lattices CD0(K,E) and CDomega(K,E) are introduced and lattice-norm properties of these spaces are investigated. We identify the centre and order continuous dual of these spaces.
Double-lepton polarization asymmetries and branching ratio of the B -> gamma l(+)l(-) transition in universal extra dimension
AZİZİ, KAZEM; Pak, N. K.; ŞİRVANLI, BERİN BELMA (2012-02-01)
We study the radiative dileptonic B ->gamma l(+)l(-) transition in the presence of a universal extra dimension in the Applequist-Cheng-Dobrescu model. In particular, using the corresponding form factors calculated via light cone QCD sum rules, we analyze the branching ratio and double lepton polarization asymmetries related to this channel and compare the results with the predictions of the standard model. We show how the results deviate from predictions of the standard model at lower values of the compacti...
