e analyze the compatibility of the recent LHC signals and the TeV-scale left right model(s) in the minimal nonsupersymmetric SO(10) framework. We show that the models in which the Higgs content is selected based on the extended survival hypothesis do not allow the W-R boson to be at the TeV-scale. By relaxing this conjecture, we investigate various scenarios where a number of colored-scalars, originated from various Pati-Salam multiplets, are light and whence they survive down to the low energies. Performing a detailed renormalization group analysis with various low-energy Higgs configurations and symmetry breaking chains, while keeping the high energy Higgs content unmodified; we find that, among a number of possibilities, the models which have a light color-triplet scalar, and its combination with a light color-sextet, particularly stand out. Although these models do allow a TeV-scale W-R boson, generating the required value of the gauge coupling g(R) at this scale is nontrivial.

Pati-Salam unification from noncommutative geometry and the TeV-scale W-R boson
Aydemir, Ufuk; Minic, Djordje; Sun, Chen; Takeuchi, Tatsu (2016-01-01)
We analyze the compatibility of the unified left-right symmetric Pati-Salam models motivated by noncommutative geometry and the TeV-scale right-handed W boson suggested by recent LHC data. We find that the unification/matching conditions place conflicting demands on the symmetry breaking scales and that generating the required W-R mass and coupling is nontrivial.
The 750 GeV diphoton excess in unified SU(2)(L) x SU(2)(R) x SU(4) models from noncommutative geometry
Aydemir, Ufuk; Minic, Djordje; Sun, Chen; Takeuchi, Tatsu (2016-06-01)
We discuss a possible interpretation of the 750 GeV diphoton resonance, recently reported at the large hadron collider (LHC), within a class of SU(2)(L) x SU(2)(R) x SU(4) models with gauge coupling unification. The unification is imposed by the underlying noncommutative geometry (NCG), which in these models is extended to a left-right symmetric completion of the Standard Model (SM). Within such unified SU(2)(L) x SU(2)(R) x SU(4) models the Higgs content is restrictively determined from the underlying NCG,...
Improvement of finite element model by using sine vibration test results of acommunication satellite
Çekiç, Abdulkadir; Yaman, Yavuz; Department of Aerospace Engineering (2021-2-15)
In this thesis, the vibration analysis of a communication satellite is performed, and the improvementof the finite element model by using vibration test results is presented. First, the satellite finite element model isgenerated using MSC/PATRAN and MSC/NASTRAN commercial software. With the natural frequency and frequency response analysis, the expected frequency values and response amplitudes in accelerometers arecalculated in vibration tests. The results obtained in the vib...
STOCHASTIC-ANALYSIS OF UNSATURATED FLOW - ONE-DIMENSIONAL MONTE-CARLO SIMULATIONS AND COMPARISONS WITH SPECTRAL PERTURBATION ANALYSIS AND FIELD OBSERVATIONS
Ünlü, Kahraman; BIGGAR, JW (1990-09-01)
A numerical experiment was designed to study the stochastic behavior of one‐dimensional transient unsaturated flow in a Monte Carlo setting. Soil hydraulic properties, log‐saturated hydraulic conductivity ln Ks, pore size distribution parameter α, and the specific water capacity C are assumed to be statistically homogeneous random fields described by exponential correlation functions with identical correlation lengths. Fifty realizations of each soil hydraulic property, with statistical properties obtained ...
Spontaneous symmetry breaking and higgs mechanism
Kahraman, Işınsu; Turan, İsmail; Department of Physics (2017)
The relevance of Higgs mechanism to nature has been verified recently by two experiments, CMS and ATLAS at Large Hadron Collider. Therefore, a detailed understanding of the mechanismis mportant more than ever. The details of Higgs potential, its stability and mass generation mechanism are going to be explored and the Higgs particle which is the quantum fluctuation of the field will be discussed within the sponteneous symmetry breaking notion. The one loop corrections to the effective potential for various toy m...
