Synthesis and biological evaluation of novel isoxazole-piperazine hybrids as potential anti-cancer agents with inhibitory effect on liver cancer stem cells
Ibis, Kubra; Sinoplu, Esra; ÇALIŞKAN, BURCU; Kahraman, Deniz Cansen; Cetin-Atalay, Rengul; BANOĞLU, ERDEN (2021-10-01)
In our effort for the development of novel anticancer therapeutics, a series of isoxazole-piperazine analogues were prepared, and primarily screened for their antiproliferative potential against hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC; Huh7/Mahlavu) and breast (MCF-7) cancer cells. All compounds demonstrated potent to moderate cytotoxicity on all cell lines with IC50 values in the range of 0.09-11.7 mu M. Further biological studies with 6a and 13d in HCC cells have shown that both compounds induced G1 or G2/M arrests...
Synthesis, Characterization and Evaluation of Cytotoxic Activities of Novel Aziridinyl Phosphonic Acid Derivatives
Khan, Rehan; Ulusan, Sinem; Banerjee, Sreeparna; Doğan, Özdemir (Wiley, 2019-11-01)
New aziridine 2-phosphonic acids were prepared by monohydrolysis of the aziridine 2-phosphonates that were obtained by the modified Gabriel-Cromwell reaction of vinyl phosphonate or alpha-tosylvinyl phosphonate with a primary amine or a chiral amine. The cellular cytotoxicity of these compounds was tested against the HCT-116 colorectal cancer cell lines and the CCD-18Co normal colon fibroblast lines using the MTT assay. Three of the synthesized phosphonic acid derivatives 2e (ethyl hydrogen {(2S)-1-[(1S)-1-...
Synthesis of novel indole-isoxazole hybrids and evaluation of their cytotoxic activities on hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines
Hawash, Mohammed; Kahraman, Deniz Cansen; Ergun, Sezen Guntekin; Cetin-Atalay, Rengul; BAYTAŞ, SULTAN (2021-12-01)
Background Liver cancer is predicted to be the sixth most diagnosed cancer globally and fourth leading cause of cancer deaths. In this study, a series of indole-3-isoxazole-5-carboxamide derivatives were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their anticancer activities. The chemical structures of these of final compounds and intermediates were characterized by using IR, HRMS, H-1-NMR and C-13-NMR spectroscopy and element analysis. Results The cytotoxic activity was performed against Huh7, MCF7 and HCT116...
Synthesis and cellular bioactivities of novel isoxazole derivatives incorporating an arylpiperazine moiety as anticancer agents.
ÇALIŞKAN, BURCU; Nalbat, Esra; Ibis, Kubra; Guzelcan, Ece Akhan; Atalay, Rengül; BANOĞLU, ERDEN (2018-12-01)
In our endeavour towards the development of effective anticancer therapeutics, a novel series of isoxazole-piperazine hybrids were synthesized and evaluated for their cytotoxic activities against human liver (Huh7 and Mahlavu) and breast (MCF-7) cancer cell lines. Within series, compounds 51-o showed the most potent cytotoxicity on all cell lines with IC50 values in the range of 0.3-3.7 mu M. To explore the mechanistic aspects fundamental to the observed activity, further biological studies with 5m and 5o i...
Synthesis and spectroelectrochemical characterization of multi-colored novel poly(3,6-dithienylcarbazole) derivatives containing azobenzene and coumarin chromophore units
Yigit, Deniz; Hacioglu, Serife O.; GÜLLÜ, Mustafa; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2016-04-01)
Azobenzene and coumarin units bearing four novel 3,6-linked thiophene-carbazole-thiophene type electroactive monomers were synthesized in order to observe the effects of strong chromophore units on the electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical behaviors of resulting pi-conjugated conducting polymers (PTCbzAz, PECbzAz, PTCbzCo and PECbzCo). Electronic and optoelectronic properties of all polymers were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and in situ spectroelectrochemical studies, and their oxidation potentia...
