Photolysis of Cr(CO)6 in ethene-doped liquid xenon at -78 °C has been reported1 to yield (7j2-ethene)Cr(CO)5 (la), trans- (772-ethene)2Cr(CO)4 (2a), and m-(?j2-ethene)2Cr(CO)4 (3a). All three compounds were said to be thermally unstable under these experimental conditions, their stability decreasing in the order la > 2a > 3a. More recently2 la was photochemically generated from Cr(CO)6 and ethene in the gas phase. Subsequent pulsed-laser photolysis produced a transient species, detected by means of time-resolved IR spectroscopy, which decayed on the ms time scale and was assigned as m-(t)2-ethene)2Cr(CO)4 (3a). The lability and cis structure of 3a was set in contrast with the stability and trans configuration of the known (?z2-olefin)2M(CO)4 complexes of molybdenum and tungsten.

Electrochromic properties and electrochromic device application of copolymer of N-(4-(3-thienyl methylene)-oxycarbonylphenyl)maleimide with thiophene
Ak, Metin; Camurlu, Pinar; Yilmaz, Faruk; Cianga, Luminita; Yagci, Yusuf; Toppare, Levent Kamil (2006-12-05)
A new copolymer of N-(4-(3-thienyl methylene)-oxycarbonylphenyl)maleimide (MBThi) with thiophene [P(MBThi-co-Th)] was synthesized electrochemically in the presence of tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate as the supporting electrolyte, in acetonitrile/borontrifluoride ethylether solvent mixture (80 : 20, v/v). Spectroelectrochemical analysis of the resulting copolymer reflected electronic transitions at 440, 730, and similar to 1000 nm, revealing pi-pi* transition, polaron, and bipolaron band formation, resp...
Polyaniline: synthesis characterization solution properties and composites
Yılmaz, Faris; Küçükyavuz, Zuhal; Department of Polymer Science and Technology (2007)
Polyaniline was chemically synthesized at three different temperatures of 25, 0, and -25oC, by oxidative polymerization with ammonium peroxidisulfate at equimolar of aniline to oxidant ratio and 1M HCl. The resulted polyaniline was in a powder form which was characterized by several techniques such as: electrical conductivity, elemental analysis, thermal analysis, wide-angle X-Ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscope. The solution properties of the reduced polymer were studied by viscometry, static...
Electrochemical copolymerization of 2-substituted thiophene derivative linked by polyether bridge with thiophene
Cihaner, A; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (2005-09-01)
New conducting copolymers have been synthesized via electrochemical oxidation of thiophene (Th) in the presence of monomer bis(2-thienyl)ethyl (1). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) studies showed that the presence of monomer I in the electrolytic solution greatly changes the CV behaviour of the formation of the polythiophene films. It is found that the increasing ratio of I was found to decrease electroactivity of copoly(I-Th). Electrochemical synthesis of copolymer films was achieved via constant potential electrol...
Structural investigation of nanohydroxyapatite doped with Y3+ and F- ions
Basar, B.; Evis, Zafer (Informa UK Limited, 2009-06-01)
Pure and 2.5 mol.-% Y3+ and F- doped nanohydroxyapatites were synthesised by a precipitation method and sintered at 900 and 1100 degrees C to investigate their densification and structure. X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy methods were performed to identify the presence of phases and bonds after the sintering respectively. Densification of hydroxyapatite was improved by the addition of these ions. No second phases were observed by X-ray diffraction method. Structure of the materi...
Photoproduction of hydrogen from sugar refinery wastewater by Rhodobacter sphaeroides OU 001
Yetis, M; Gündüz, Ufuk; Eroglu, I; Yucel, M; Turker, L (2000-11-01)
Pretreated sugar refinery wastewater (SRWW) was used for the production of hydrogen by Rhodobacter sphaeroides O.U.001 in a 0.4 1 column photobioreactor. Hydrogen was produced at a rate of 0.001 1 hydrogen/h/l culture in 20% dilution of SRWW. To adjust the carbon concentration to 70 mM and nitrogen concentration to 2 mM, sucrose or l-malic acid was added as carbon source and sodium glutamate was added as nitrogen source to the 20% dilution of SRWW. By these adjustments, hydrogen production rate was increase...
