Prof. Dr. Ahmet Süha Sevük completed his undergraduate degree in the Department of Civil Engineering at METU in 1967, then he took his master's degree in the same department in 1969, and his doctorate from the University of Illinois in 1973. He served as a visiting professor at the University of Illinois in 1973-1974 and a lecturer and deputy dean at King Abdulaziz University between 1981-1985. He became an assistant professor in 1974, associate professor in 1980, and professor in 1985. He served as the dean at METU Faculty of Engineering in 1989-1992 and as the rector of METU in 1992-2000.
