The Department of Chemistry was moved to its current buildings in the campus in 1965. The construction of the twin blocks, which are the first buildings of the department consisting of five blocks and are named as ‘B and C buildings’ today was completed on 01.10.1964. The construction of A building that contains Analytical Chemistry and General Chemistry laboratories as well as a Lecture Hall was completed on 30.07.1968. O (offices) and D buildings (Polymer and Organic Laboratories and Department of Theoretical Chemistry) was constructed on 03.02.1974 and floor addition to C building was completed on 01.09.1978.
