The first METU International Spring Festival was organized by UGT (International Youth Society) on May 11-21, 1987. International Spring Festival which has become an important tradition of the University is the first festival institutionalized at the University by the contributions of UGT as well as other communities. At the festival that takes place every year in May, in addition to a fair, international expo, stadium, and indoor concerts; theater, exhibition, dance performances, interviews, panel discussions, slide shows, dorm disco, and contests, which are performed in various venues of the campus by student clubs, are organized.
