In Turkey, statistics is taught as part of the mathematics curriculum beginning in elementary grades, and this report describes the intended content focus for each grade level and the resources, curricular materials and approaches to teaching statistics. The discussion includes a comparison of the curriculum to what is needed for statistical literacy in today’s world and a reflection on the realities and challenges in teaching statistics in Turkey’s schools.
