Parameter optimization on compressive strength of steel fiber reinforced high strength concrete
Ayan, E.; Saatcioglu, Oe.; Turanlı, Lutfullah (Elsevier BV, 2011-06-01)
This paper illustrates parameter optimization of compressive strength of steel fiber reinforced high strength concrete (SFRHSC) by statistical design and analysis of experiments. Among several factors affecting the compressive strength, five parameters that maximize all of the responses have been chosen as the most important ones as age of testing, binder type, binder amount, curing type and steel fiber volume fraction. Taguchi analysis techniques have been used to evaluate L-27 (3(13)) Taguchi's orthogonal...
Parameter Design Optimization of Products with an Ordinal Categorical Response Using Random Forests
Köksal, Gülser (null; 2018-11-01)
We propose an alternative method for finding optimal settings of product and process design parameters for the case of an ordinal categorical product/process response. The method utilizes Random Forests for modelling mean and variance of the response at a given set of parameter settings. The method uses different weighting strategies of Random Forest, and it is applied on three case problems. Results obtained are compared with those of previous studies that used the same data sets.

Parameter Identification in MHD Duct Flow Cauchy Problem using the DRBEM
Tezer, Münevver (2018-08-31)
In this study, the Hartmann number (Ha) is identified through the inverse formulation of Cauchy problem for magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow in a duct with insulated but no-slip or variably slipping walls. The solutions for direct and inverse problems are obtained using the dual reciprocity boundary element method (DRBEM), and Tikhonov regularization with L-curve method is used for solving ill-conditioned linear system of equations resulted from the inverse problem. The velocity and the induced magnetic field...
