9-variable Boolean functions with nonlinearity 242 in the generalized rotation symmetric class
Kavut, Selcuk; Diker, Melek (2010-04-01)
We give a new lower bound to the covering radius of the first order Reed-Muller code RM(1, n), where n is an element of {9, 11, 13}. Equivalently, we present the n-variable Boolean functions for n is an element of {9,11,13} with maximum nonlinearity found till now. In 2006, 9-variable Boolean functions having nonlinearity 241, which is strictly greater than the bent concatenation bound of 240, have been discovered in the class of Rotation Symmetric Boolean Functions (RSBFs) by Kavut, Maitra and Yucel. To im...
17 beta-estradiol induced compositional, structural and functional changes in rainbow trout liver, revealed by FT-IR spectroscopy: A comparative study with nonylphenol
Cakmak, G; Togan, İnci Zehra; Severcan, Feride (Elsevier BV, 2006-04-20)
Steroidal hormones produced by humans and animals are constantly being excreted into the environment. It has been demonstrated that sewage effluent discharged to surface water contains natural estrogens and synthetic estrogenic chemicals. As estrogen levels continuously increase in the aquatic environment, it is very important to have a detailed understanding of estrogens' effects on fish. In the present study, juvenile rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were exposed to 17 beta-estradiol (E2) for 3 weeks a...

2-D Kinematics of the Shank and Foot Complex during Stance using Markerless Segmentation and Body-Segment Anatomical Axes Identification
Sürer, Elif; Della Croce, Ugo (2008-10-31)
In this work, a markerless motion capture method is proposed for the 2-D description of the movement of the shank and foot complex. The video sequences of subjects walking wearing socks or barefoot, were segmented isolating the moving regions from the background. Anatomical axes of a three-segment model of the shank and foot complex were identified using two different methods applied to the segmented images: 1) skeletonization and line detection ...
