The research ship, "Bilim", which was built for the first time in TURKEY, is one of the most advanced examples in the world in marine science. It was built at the Taşkızak Shipyard of the Naval Forces Command, which has a history of 527 years, for the Middle East Technical University Marine Sciences Institute, with a cost of 200 million liras. The pride and enthusiasm of shipbuilding efforts that began centuries ago with galleys and tugboats are being experienced again with "Bilim". Like the veteran "Hora" that broke away from a tugboat and set out for the open seas, or the "Piri Reis" that worked for the same purpose, the new ship will also illuminate the darkness of the seas.
