THE POWER SPECTRUM ASSOCIATED WITH A KINK CHAIN OSCILLATING IN A NON-STOKESIAN ATMOSPHERE OF PARAELASTIC INTERSTITIALS
OGURTANI, T; GUNGOR, R (Elsevier BV, 1994-09-01)
The power spectrum of a built-in kink chain oscillating in an atmosphere of paraelastic interstitials was investigated numerically using a fast Fourier transform technique. Above a sharply defined value of the strain amplitude, odd-harmonic generation is observed only at the low-temperature side of the dislocation relaxation peak associated with interstitial-kink interaction. At moderately high strain amplitudes, a strong enhancement of the harmonics situated in the immediate vicinity of the natural resonan...
A CONDUCTING COMPOSITE OF POLYPYRROLE .1. SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION
SELAMPINAR, F; Akbulut, Ural; YALCIN, T; SUZER, S; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 1994-02-01)
A conducting composite of polypyrrole was prepared via electrochemical methods. A polyamide was used as the insulating matrix polymer. The characterization of the composite was done by FT-IR, SEM, TGA, DSC and pyrolysis studies. Conductivity and solubility studies together with spectroscopic methods reveal that H bonding exists between the two polymers and a possible grafting to a certain extent.
A bis-selenophene substituted alkoxy benzene derivative as a highly stable novel electrochromic polymer
Udum, Y. Arslan; Tarkuc, S.; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2009-03-01)
Up to date there are few studies reporting the use of selenophene derivatives as electrochromic polymers. This report highlights the synthesis of a selenophene containing multi-ring aromatic polymer which possesses reasonable optical contrasts at both visible and near-IR regions. Electrochemical synthesis of a conducting polymer from a multi-ring aromatic monomer, 2-(2,5-bis(hexyloxy)-4-(selenophen-2-yl)phenyl)selenophene (BSB(OC6H13)(2)), was achieved at a lower potential than its corresponding parent, sel...
A STUDY OF IMPURITY EFFECT ON ORDERING CHARACTERISTICS OF FE3AL INTERMETALLICS
Mehrabov, Amdulla; Ozturk, T (Elsevier BV, 1994-03-01)
A study is carried out into energetical and structural characteristics of atomic ordering processes in Fe3Al. The statistico-thermodynamical theory of ordering by a quasichemical method is combined with the electronic theory of alloys in pseudopotential approximation in order to predict impurity effects on DO3 double-line arrow pointing left and right B2 phase transition temperature and the characteristics of atomic short-range order in Fe3Al-type intermetallics. Impurity elements in Fe3(Al, Me) Me-Cr, Si, ...
Effect of solidification rate on microstructure and primary carbides of AISI DC 53 cold work tool steel
Cardakh, Ismail Seckin; Kalkanlı, Ali (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2019-05-01)
The solidification behavior of AISI DC 53 cold work tool steel was investigated by means of a cooling curve and its first derivative. Copper and sand wedge-shaped molds were used to obtain various solidification rates. To reveal the cooling rate degree during solidification, the secondary dendrite arm spacing of the steel alloy was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The solidification rates of each section for both wedge steel samples were calculated by means of the secondary dendrite arm spaci...
