A class of authentication codes with secrecy
OZBUDAK, ELİF KURTARAN; Özbudak, Ferruh; SAYGI, ZÜLFÜKAR (2011-04-01)
We study a class of authentication codes with secrecy. We determine the maximum success probabilities of the impersonation and the substitution attacks on these codes and the level of secrecy. Therefore we give an answer to an open problem stated in Ding et al. (J Pure Appl Algebra 196:149-168, 2005). Our proofs use the number of rational places of a certain class of algebraic function fields. We determine this number by extending the corresponding results of E. Cak double dagger ak and F. A-zbudak (Finite ...
A logical framework for scheduling workflows under resource allocation constraints
Karagöz, Pınar; Toroslu, İsmail Hakkı (null; 2002-08-22)
This chapter presents a framework for workflows whose correctness is given by a set of resource allocation constraints and develops techniques for scheduling such systems. A workflow consists of a collection of coordinated tasks designed to carry out a well-defined complex process, such as catalog ordering, trip planning, or a business process in an enterprise. Scheduling of workflows is a problem of finding a correct execution sequence for the workflow tasks, that is, execution that obeys the constraints t...
A FUZZY CONCEPTUAL MODEL FOR MULTIMEDIA DATA WITH A TEXT-BASED AUTOMATIC ANNOTATION SCHEME
Kucuk, Dilek; Burcuozgur, N.; Yazıcı, Adnan; KOYUNCU, Murat (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2009-08-01)
The size of multimedia data is increasing fast due to the abundance of multimedia applications. Modeling the semantics of the data effectively is crucial for proper management of it. In this paper, we present a fuzzy conceptual data model for multimedia data which is also generic in the sense that it can be adapted to all multimedia domains. The model takes an object-oriented approach and it handles fuzziness at different representation levels where fuzziness is inherent in multimedia applications and shoul...
A Non-Structural Representation Scheme for Articulated Shapes
Genctav, Asli; Tarı, Zehra Sibel (2018-10-01)
Articulated shapes are successfully represented by structural representations which are organized in the form of graphs of shape components. We present an alternative representation scheme which is equally powerful but does not require explicit modeling or discovery of structural relations. The key element in our scheme is a novel multi scale pixel-based distinctness measure which implicitly quantifies how rare a particular pixel is in terms of its geometry with respect to all pixels of the shape. The spati...
