For years, authentic built-in furniture such as “sedir”, “dolap” and “gusülhane” in the living spaces of the traditional houses have been important elements for the inhabitants to meet the requirements of everyday life basing on the habits of the old periods. However, with the changing lifestyles of the societies throughout years which directly affect the lifestyles of their smallest units, the families, the usage and functionality of these authentic elements in the traditional dwellings have started to lose their real meanings. In this manner, this study examines the alterations that the usages of “sedir”, “dolap” and “gusülhane” have gone through and the traditional houses in Beypazarı are analyzed for this study as Beypazarı houses still contain these authentic elements to an extent and the alterations of these elements can be clearly observed in the dwellings. In the light of the inferences made during the analyses, this study aims to find some solutions so that these authentic elements which tend to be disappearing and ignored because of their decreasing functionalities in today’s conditions can be adapted to the requirements of modern life. For this study to express itself clearly and to support its main objective, some proposals are put forward for “sedir”, “dolap” and “gusülhane” in the traditional Beypazarı houses to be used in an effective way today.
