Transverse vibration of pre-stressed beams: an experimental technique for the determination of dynamic viscoelastic material properties of tissue mimicking materials
Yazıcıoğlu, Yiğit; Navarro-castillo, K.; Kutluay, U.; Roystonc, T.j. (null; 2008-12-01)
An experimental dynamic material property identification technique is presented that is based on the theoretical formulations of a vibrating pre-stressed beam. The technique determines the viscoelastic material properties of tissue mimicking materials that govern their dynamic behavior. Results are presented for a silicone based material (CF11-2188 Nusil Silicone Technology, Carpinteria, CA) that is in the form of a thick string held between fixed supports under tensile pre-stress. The specimens are excited...
Longitudinally pumped Ne-like titanium x-ray laser simulation with a post-processor code coupled to EHYBRID

Longitudinal pumping with a grazing incidence scheme of Ne-like Ti has been modeled by using the EHYBRID and a post-processor code. The atomic data that are required in the simulation are obtained by using the Cowan code. The variation of the Ne-like Ti x-ray laser gain at 32.6 nm is calculated for a fixed delay time with a variation in the incidence angle and a fixed incidence angle with a variation in the delay time. The post processor code has been used to simulate the x-ray resonance lines between 17 an...
LONGITUDINAL ELASTIC-WAVE PROPAGATION AND ENERGY FLUX AT A DISCONTINUITY OF 2 DISSIMILAR SEMIINFINITE CIRCULAR RODS
Yıldırım, Raif Orhan (1994-10-01)
Elastic wave propagation through an area discontinuity of two dissimilar, bonded, semi-infinite circular rods is investigated analytically. In particular, the variations of the coefficients of stress reflection and transmission are determined in terms of the nondimensional cross sectional area and mechanical impedance parameters. The coefficients of energy flux reflection and transmission are also included. Then, the case is generalized to include a rigid mass attached at the discontinuity.
