Multi-Layered. Simulation Architecture: A Practical Approach
Topcu, Okan; Oğuztüzün, Mehmet Halit S. (2011-09-28)
This paper presents a practical approach to design federate architectures by applying a well-known architectural style-layered architecture. Applying the layered architecture to specify the architecture of an HLA-based simulation provides a good separation of concerns, which are the interface, the simulation logic, and the HLA-specific communication. Thus, the layered simulation architecture allows the simulation developers to focus on each concern separately and gives them the freedom to implement each lay...

G.W. Leibnizs metaphysical system with a special emphasis on perception
Oral, Deniz; Ceylan, Yasin; Turan, Halil Ş.; Department of Philosophy (2003)
This thesis is a study of Leibniz's concept of perception in relation with other fundamental components of his metaphysical system. The other components of Leibniz's metaphysics that are investigated are God, monads, unity, change, representation and interaction. Leibniz's system is largely determined by the idea of God and the relevant theories that are connected to this idea. That this world is the 'best of all possible worlds' and the 'system of pre-established harmony' are the theses that Leibniz deduce...

Probabilistic D-clustering
Ben-Israel, Adi; İyigün, Cem (2008-06-01)
We present a new iterative method for probabilistic clustering of data. Given clusters, their centers and the distances of data points from these centers, the probability of cluster membership at any point is assumed inversely proportional to the distance from (the center of) the cluster in question. This assumption is our working principle.
