In this paper, performance of target angle estimation under intermittent interference is studied by doing angle estimation from MVDR and Capon spectrums. Although MVDR and Capon are closely related methods, they give different results in target angle estimation especially when the target and jammer are close to each other. Also, both methods are less affected from the probability of presence of jamming signal.

Uniform and Non-Uniform V-shaped Arrays for 2-D DOA Estimation
Filik, Tansu; Tuncer, Temel Engin; Yasar, T. Kaya (2008-04-22)
In this study, a new method for optimum design of uniform and non-uniform V-shaped arrays is presented for azimuth and elevation angle estimation. The proposed design method finds an optimum angle between the linear sub-arrays of the V-array by using the Cramer-Rao Bound (CRB) where statistical coupling effect between azimuth and elevation angle estimation is considered This method can be used to obtain directional and isotropic angle performances for uniform and non-uniform V-arrays. For non-uniform isotro...
CALCULATION OF THE OVERLAP ANGLE IN SLIP ENERGY RECOVERY DRIVES USING A D,Q/ABC MODEL
AKPINAR, E; PILLAY, P; Ersak, Aydın (1993-06-01)
In this paper, a closed-form expression to estimate the overlap angle in a slip energy recovery system is presented. The prediction of the overlap angle is important in the case of doubly-fed induction motor drives, because of its influence on speed and torque. A closed-form expression is derived using a hybrid model of the induction motor and a dynamic model of the rotor rectifier. The ripple content of the dc link current and the inverter input voltage are neglected. The predicted results obtained using t...
Design of V-shaped array geometry
Filik, Tansu; Tuncer, Temel Engin; Yasar, T. Kaya (2007-06-13)
in this study, a new design method is proposed for V-shaped planar array geometry for two-dimensional azimuth and elevation angle estimation. The proposed method is similar to filter design in signal processing. This method determines the V-shaped array geometry which gives the best 2-D angle estimation performances for the specified design parameters. The best geometry is determined by using Cramer-Rao Bound (CRB) and performance comparison is done with other planar array geometries.
Maximum likelihood autoregressive model parameter estimation with noise corrupted independent snapshots
Çayır, Ömer; Candan, Çağatay (2021-09-01)
Maximum likelihood autoregressive (AR) model parameter estimation problem with independent snapshots observed under white Gaussian measurement noise is studied. In addition to the AR model parameters, the measurement noise variance is also included among the unknowns of the problem to develop a general solution covering several special cases such as the case of known noise variance, noise-free snapshots, the single snapshot operation etc. The presented solution is based on the expectation-maximization metho...
Compensation of Temperature and Acceleration effects on MEMS Gyroscope
Ali, Muhammad (2016-01-16)
This paper shows temperature and acceleration effects on Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems (MEMS) gyroscope and a practical solution is presented to mitigate effect of these errors using different methods (Polynomial Curve fitting and Neural Networks). Compensation is performed on the output bias drift data acquired from different MEMS gyroscopes. Performance of compensation techniques is also presented in this study. This paper presents novelty of integrated compensation for both factors (temperature and ac...
