SILVER-PLATINUM CORE-SHELL NANOWIRES FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL APPLICATIONS
Tunca, Şensu; Ünalan, Hüsnü Emrah; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2021-7)
Silver nanowire (Ag NW) networks are one of the most outstanding candidates for optoelectronic applications to replace the commercial transparent conducting oxides (TCOs). Their high mechanical stability, solution based and scalable, low-cost synthesis and deposition routes make them an advantageous candidate over TCOs for future electronics. However, the integration of NW networks into electronic devices requires high thermal, chemical and electrochemical stability of NWs. This work describes the fabricat...
Dark electrical conductivity and photoconductivity of Ga(4)Se(3)S layered single crystals
QASRAWI, ATEF FAYEZ HASAN; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2008-11-01)
Ga(4)Se(3)S layered crystals were studied through the dark electrical conductivity, and illumination- and temperature-dependent photoconductivity in the temperature region of 100-350 K. The dark electrical conductivity reflected the existence of two energy states located at 3 10 and 60 meV being dominant above and below 170 K, respectively. The photoconductivity measurements revealed the existence of another two energy levels located at 209 and 91 meV above and below 230 K. The photoconductivity was observe...

Silver nanoparticle-doped polyvinyl alcohol coating as a medium for surface-enhanced Raman scattering analysis
Karabicak, Seher; Kaya, Murat; Vo-Dinh, Tuan; Volkan, Mürvet (American Scientific Publishers, 2008-02-01)
A simple polymer substrate for inducing Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) has been investigated. This SERS substrate consists of a solid support, such as a glass slide covered with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) impregnated with fine silver nanoparticles. The preparation simply involves mixing aqueous PVA polymer with solid AgNO3 to produce a solution that can be easily spin coated on the glass substrate and dried to obtain a hard translucent coating. Aqueous solution of FeSO4 center dot 7H(2)O was used to ...
