Deconvolution Kalman filtering for force measurements of revolving wings
Vester, R.; Perçin, Mustafa; van Oudheusden, B. (IOP Publishing, 2016-09-01)
The applicability of a deconvolution Kalman filtering approach is assessed for the force measurements on a flat plate undergoing a revolving motion, as an alternative procedure to correct for test setup vibrations. The system identification process required for the correct implementation of the deconvolution Kalman filter is explained in detail. It is found that in the presence of a relatively complex forcing history, the DK filter is better suited to filter out structural test rig vibrations than conventio...

Calculating the matrix exponential of a constant matrix on time scales
Zafer, Ağacık (Elsevier BV, 2008-06-01)
We propose a method which simplifies the main result obtained in [A. Zafer, The exponential of a constant matrix on time scales, ANZIAM J. 48 (2006) 99-106] to calculate the matrix exponential of a constant matrix on a time scale.
An instrument for the high temperature measurement of the Seebeck coefficient and electrical resistivity
GÜNEŞ, Murat; Parlak, Mehmet; Ozenbas, Macit (IOP Publishing, 2014-05-01)
A system for the simultaneous measurement of thermoelectric power and resistivity of one and/ or two samples over a temperature range of 300-1000 K in a vacuum chamber is designed and implemented. A sample probe is developed to provide its easy mounting and usage. In addition, two samples can be measured at the same time. Measurement accuracy has been enhanced by beadless thermocouples and micro-heaters that are specifically designed in order to minimize the 'cold-finger effect' and to eliminate some possib...
Analysis of variance and linear contrasts in experimental design with generalized secant hyperbolic distribution
Yilmaz, Yidiz E.; Akkaya, Ayşen (Elsevier BV, 2008-07-01)
We consider one-way classification model in experimental design when the errors have generalized secant hyperbolic distribution. We obtain efficient and robust estimators for block effects by using the modified maximum likelihood estimation (MML) methodology. A test statistic analogous to the normal-theory F statistic is defined to test block effects. We also define a test statistic for testing linear contrasts. It is shown that test statistics based on MML estimators are efficient and robust. The methodolo...
