Calculations of the roots of classical orthogonal polynomials: an application to gaussian quadrature
Shaidolda, Gulnaz; Taşeli, Hasan; Department of Mathematics (2019)
This thesis focuses on classical orthogonal polynomials namely Jacobi, Laguerre and Hermite polynomials and a method to calculate the roots of these polynomials is constructed. The roots are expressed as the eigenvalues of a tridiagonal matrix whose coefficients depend on the recurrence formula for the classical orthogonal polynomials. These approximations of roots are used as method of computation of Gaussian quadratures. Then the discussion of the numerical results are then introduced to deduce the effici...
Household organization in Classical Burgaz (Palaia Knidos) : domestic assemblages, space and function
Atıcı, Nadire; Tuna, Numan; Department of Settlement Archaeology (2013)
The main aim of this dissertation is to present data on and to discuss the activity engaged in by the household in the Classical Burgaz (Palaia Knidos) houses. Through the examination of nine recently excavated houses, combined with consideration of their artifact assemblages and architecture, it has been tried to gain insight into the use of domestic space and household organization at Burgaz (located in the Southwestern Anatolia) in 4th Century B.C. The theoretical foundation for this research is drawn fr...
Agricultural practices and countryside in classical Greece
Demirciler, Volkan; Tuna, Numan; Department of Settlement Archaeology (2007)
The subject of this study is the rural settlements in Classical Greece. There is no doubt that there were various factors determined the ancient settlement patterns in Greek countryside. Geographical conditions, socio-economic and political structures can be regarded as major significant factors behind the settlement practices of ancient societies. In this study the relationships between agricultural system and rural settlements of Classical Greece will be examined.
Klasik ve Modern Yön Kestirimi
Tuncer, Temel Engin (AP, London , 2009-02-01)
lassical and Modern Direction of Arrival Estimation contains both theory and practice of direction finding by the leading researchers in the field. This unique blend of techniques used in commercial DF systems and state-of-the art super-resolution methods is a valuable source of information for both practicing engineers and researchers. Key topics covered are: Classical methods of direction findingPractical DF methods used in commercial systemsCalibration in antenna arraysArray mapping, fast algor...
Investigation of the romantic themes and tensions in classical American pragmatism
Avcı, Nil; İnam, Ahmet; Department of Philosophy (2017)
This thesis aims to elaborate on and defend the idea that Classical American Pragmatism shares the same themes, interests, concerns and tensions with German Romanticism. The basic proposal is that the paradoxical romantic theme of absence pointing beyond or implying more and the romantic notion of infinite strife closely connected with this theme express themselves in epistemological, ontological, ethical forms through the pragmatic philosophies of Charles Sanders Peirce and William James. In order to inves...
