Technological pedagogical content knowledge (tpack) development of preservice middle school mathematics teachers in statistics teaching: a microteaching lesson study
Kurt, Gamze; Çakıroğlu, Erdinç; Department of Elementary Education (2016)
The current study examined the development of technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) of preservice mathematics teachers in statistics teaching with virtual manipulatives in the context of a microteaching lesson study (MLS). Since “technology integration is described by how and why it is used rather its amount or type”, integrating technology into education necessitates investigation of instructional uses of digital tools and resources (Earle, 2002, p. 8). TPACK framework suggested by Koehler an...
Pseudospectral methods for differential equations : application to the Schrödinger type eigenvalue problems
Alıcı, Haydar; Taşeli, Hasan; Department of Mathematics (2003)
In this thesis, a survey on pseudospectral methods for differential equations is presented. Properties of the classical orthogonal polynomials required in this context are reviewed. Differentiation matrices corresponding to Jacobi, Laguerre, and Hermite cases are constructed. A fairly detailed investigation is made for the Hermite spectral methods, which is applied to the Schrödinger eigenvalue equation with several potentials. A discussion of the numerical results and comparison with other methods are then ...
Performance tests of a novel electroencephalographic data-acquisition system
Usakli, Ali Bulent; Gençer, Nevzat Güneri (2007-02-16)
The aim of the this study is to present some performance tests of a novel 256-channel electroencephalographic data-acquisition system. The common mode rejection ratio of the system was measured as 102 dB for signals in the electroencephalography frequency range and 154 dB for de signals. System electrical noise (referred-to-input) is 1.76 mu V (rms) (0.21 mu V/root Hz for 70-Hz bandwidth). The cross-talk rejection was found to be at 58 dB. The dynamic range of the system was found 108 dB. The performance te...
Elements of Probability and Statistics
Yozgatlıgil, Ceylan(2010)
The goal of this course is to introduce students to the basic probability theory and mathematical statistics and help them in establishing a good theoretical background for their future professions. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to probability, statistical theory and methodology. Lectures will explain the theoretical origins and practical implications of statistical formulae. This course contains the most basic tools for a good initiation to statistical methods in Applied Mathematics.
Anthropological analysis of graphic content knowledge pre-service elementary mathematics teachers
Akar, Nazlı (null; 2017-05-19)
The purpose of this study is to analyse the content knowledge on graphs of pre-service elementary mathematics teachers from an anthropological perspective. 112 pre-service elementary mathematics teachers participated in the study. Concentric mixed pattern research method has been used in the study. The data was collected through Graphic Content Knowledge Scale and interview method in order to examine the content knowledge of primary school math teacher candidates related to graphics anthropologically. This ...
