We give a new construction of conserved charges in asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetimes in Einstein's gravity. The new formula is explicitly gauge-invariant and makes direct use of the linearized curvature tensor instead of the metric perturbation. As an example, we compute the mass and angular momentum of the Kerr-AdS black holes.

CASIMIR EFFECT IN A HALF EINSTEIN UNIVERSE - AN EXACTLY SOLVABLE CASE IN CURVED BACKGROUND AND WITH A SPHERICAL BOUNDARY
BAYIN, SS; OZCAN, M (IOP Publishing, 1993-09-01)
We reconsider the Casimir problem for the massless conformal scalar field in a 'half Einstein universe'. We first calculate the renormalized vacuum energy by using the mode sum method. Next, we calculate the renormalized vacuum energy-momentum tensor by using the point-splitting method. We construct the Green function by using the eigenfunctions, which are obtained by solving the wave equation with the appropriate boundary conditions. We discuss the importance of this case as well as its relation to previo...
New approach to conserved charges of generic gravity in AdS spacetimes
Altas, Emel; Tekin, Bayram (American Physical Society (APS), 2019-02-12)
Starting from a divergence-free rank-4 tensor of which the trace is the cosmological Einstein tensor, we give a construction of conserved charges in Einstein's gravity and its higher derivative extensions for asymptotically anti-de Sitter spacetimes. The current yielding the charge is explicitly gauge invariant, and the charge expression involves the linearized Riemann tensor at the boundary. Hence, to compute the mass and angular momenta in these spacetimes, one just needs to compute the linearized Riemann...
Mass and angular momentum of asymptotically AdS or flat solutions in the topologically massive gravity
Olmez, S; Sarıoğlu, Bahtiyar Özgür; Tekin, Bayram (IOP Publishing, 2005-10-21)
We study the conserved charges of supersymmetric solutions in the topologically massive gravity theory for both asymptotically flat and constant curvature geometries.
Precise determination of the mass of the Higgs boson and tests of compatibility of its couplings with the standard model predictions using proton collisions at 7 and 8 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2015-05-01)
Properties of the Higgs boson with mass near 125 GeV are measured in proton-proton collisions with the CMS experiment at the LHC. Comprehensive sets of production and decay measurements are combined. The decay channels include gamma gamma, ZZ, WW, tau tau, bb, and mu mu pairs. The data samples were collected in 2011 and 2012 and correspond to integrated luminosities of up to 5.1 fb(-1) at 7 TeV and up to 19.7 fb(-1) at 8 TeV. From the high-resolution gamma gamma and ZZ channels, the mass of the Higgs boson ...
Accelerated Born-Infeld metrics in Kerr-Schild geometry
GÜRSES, METİN; Sarıoğlu, Bahtiyar Özgür (IOP Publishing, 2003-01-21)
We consider Einstein Born-Infeld theory with a null fluid in Kerr-Schild geometry. We find accelerated charge solutions of this theory. Our solutions reduce to the Plebanski solution when the acceleration vanishes and to the Bonnor-Vaidya solution as the Born-Infeld parameter b goes to infinity. We also give the explicit form of the energy flux formula due to the acceleration of the charged sources.
