We give an exact solution of the quadratic gravity in D dimensions. The solution is a plane-fronted wave metric with a cosmological constant. This metric solves not only the full quadratic gravity field equations but also the linearized ones which include the linearized equations of the recently found critical gravity. A subset of the solutions change the asymptotic structure of the anti-de Sitter space due to their logarithmic behavior.

All bulk and boundary unitary cubic curvature theories in three dimensions
Gullu, Ibrahim; Sisman, Tahsin Cagri; Tekin, Bayram (American Physical Society (APS), 2011-01-26)
We construct all the bulk and boundary unitary cubic curvature parity invariant gravity theories in three dimensions in (anti)-de Sitter spaces. For bulk unitarity, our construction is based on the principle that the free theory of the cubic curvature theory reduces to one of the three known unitary theories which are the cosmological Einstein-Hilbert theory, the quadratic theory of the scalar curvature, or the new massive gravity (NMG). Bulk and boundary unitarity in NMG is in conflict; therefore, cubic th...
Massive higher derivative gravity in D-dimensional anti-de Sitter spacetimes
Guellue, Ibrahim; Tekin, Bayram (American Physical Society (APS), 2009-09-01)
We find the propagator and calculate the tree level scattering amplitude between two covariantly conserved sources in an anti-de Sitter background for the most general D-dimensional quadratic, four-derivative, gravity with a Pauli-Fierz mass. We also calculate the Newtonian potential for various limits of the theory in flat space. We show how the recently introduced three-dimensional New Massive Gravity is uniquely singled out among higher derivative models as a (tree level) unitary model and that its Newto...
Pseudospin and spin symmetry in Dirac-Morse problem with a tensor potential
AYDOĞDU, OKTAY; Sever, Ramazan (Elsevier BV, 2011-09-14)
Under the conditions of the pseudospin and spin symmetry, approximate analytical solutions of the Dirac-Morse problem with Coulomb-like tensor potential are presented. The energy eigenvalue equations are found and corresponding radial wave functions are obtained in terms of confluent hypergeometric functions. The energy eigenvalues are calculated numerically in the absence and presence of the tensor potential. We also investigate the contribution of the potential parameters to the energy splitting of the ps...
Gravitational charges of transverse asymptotically AdS spacetimes
Cebeci, Hakan; Sarıoğlu, Bahtiyar Özgür; Tekin, Bayram (American Physical Society (APS), 2006-12-01)
Using Killing-Yano symmetries, we construct conserved charges of spacetimes that asymptotically approach to the flat or anti-de Sitter spaces only in certain directions. In D dimensions, this allows one to define gravitational charges (such as mass and angular momenta densities) of p-dimensional branes/solitons or any other extended objects that curve the transverse space into an asymptotically flat or AdS one. Our construction answers the question of what kind of charges the antisymmetric Killing-Yano tens...
Born-Infeld-Horava gravity
Gullu, Ibrahim; Sisman, Tahsin Cagri; Tekin, Bayram (American Physical Society (APS), 2010-05-15)
We define various Born-Infeld gravity theories in 3 + 1 dimensions which reduce to Horava's model at the quadratic level in small curvature expansion. In their exact forms, our actions provide z -> infinity extensions of Horava's gravity, but when small curvature expansion is used, they reproduce finite z models, including some half-integer ones.
