One-step facile synthesis of boron containing ZSM-5 microspheres is developed using 1,6-diaminohexane as the structure-directing agent and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide as the mesoporogen. High boron incorporation up to Si/B ratio of 38 is achieved and evidenced by the stretching vibrations of B-O-Si at 667 cm(-1) and 917 cm(-1) using Fourier-transform infrared spectra. The morphology of the crystals resembles berry-like spheres with sizes approximately 15 mu m, which is composed of aggregated nanocrystals having sizes around 450 nm, is observed using scanning electron microscopy. The textural properties, i.e. the surface areas and pore volumes are investigated using N-2 adsorption at -196 degrees C. t-plot micropore volume of 0.11 cm(3)/g and mesopore volume of 0.14 cm(3)/g are obtained applying this synthesis method for mesopores having pore diameters within the range of 2-10 nm.

Synthesis of novel chiral bisoxazoline ligands with a norbornadiene backbone: use in the copper-catalyzed enantioselective Henry reaction
Delikus, Rabia; Cakir, Emine; DEMİREL, NADİR; Balcı, Metin; KARATAŞ, BETÜL (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, 2016-01-01)
Novel chiral bisoxazoline ligands based on norbornadiene were synthesized and used for the asymmetric Henry reaction. Various aromatic aldehydes were converted into chiral beta-nitro alcohols with high yields and moderate to acceptable enantioselectivities under the optimized reaction conditions.
Self-condensation reactions of acyl phosphonates: synthesis of tertiary O-protected alpha-hydroxyphosphonates
EYMUR, SERKAN; Gollu, Mehmet; Demir, Ayhan Sıtkı (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, 2014-01-01)
The self-condensation reaction of benzoyl dialkyl phosphonates was developed using cyanide ion as catalyst, affording versatile tertiary O-protected alpha-hydroxy phosphonates in moderate yield.
Novel Molecular Building Blocks Based on the Boradiazaindacene Chromophore: Applications in Fluorescent Metallosupramolecular Coordination Polymers
Bozdemir, Oe. Altan; Buyukcakir, Onur; AKKAYA, Engin Umut (Wiley, 2009-01-01)
We designed and synthesized novel boradiazaindacene (Bodipy) derivatives that are appropriately functionalized for metal-ion-mediated supramolecular polymerization. Thus, ligands for 2-terpyridyl-, 2,6-terpyridyl-. and bipyridyl-functionalized Bodipy dyes were synthesized through Sonogashira couplings. These fluorescent building blocks are responsive to metal ions in a stoichiometry-dependent manner. Octahedral coordinating metal ions such as Zn-II result in polymerization at a stoichiometry corresponding t...
A novel asymmetric synthesis of highly enantiomerically enriched norbornane-type diamine derivatives
BOLM, CARSTEN; SCHİFFERS, INGO; ATODİRESEİ, IULİANA; Özçubukçu, Salih; RAABE, GERHARD (Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), 2003-01-01)
The simple and highly enantioselective methanolysis of norbornene dicarboxylic acid anhydride mediated by quinidine leads to the corresponding cis-monomethyl ester with 98% ee. By means of selective ester epimerization, followed by Curtius degradation of the intermediate trans-diacyl azide, two optically active norbornane-type diamines are obtained as their hydrochloric salts. Liberating the amine with an excess of triethylamine in situ and subsequent derivatization affords potential C-1-symmetric ligands f...
From Homoconjugated Push-Pull Chromophores to Donor-Acceptor-Substituted Spiro Systems by Thermal Rearrangement
Dengiz, Çağatay; KATO, Shin-ichiro; ZALIBERA, Michal; CIAS, Pawel; SCHWEIZER, W. Bernd; BOUDON, Corinne; GISSELBRECHT, Jean-Paul; GESCHEIDT, Georg; DIEDERICH, Francois (Wiley, 2014-01-27)
Series of homoconjugated push-pull chromophores and donor-acceptor (D-A)-functionalized spiro compounds were synthesized, in which the electron-donating strength of the anilino donor groups was systematically varied. The structural and optoelectronic properties of the compounds were investigated by X-ray analysis, UV/Vis spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and computational analysis. The homoconjugated push-pull chromophores with a central bicyclo[4.2.0]octane scaffold were obtained in high yield by [2+2] cyclo...
