2007-05-01
A model on the effects of leader, media, viruses, worms, and other agents on the opinion of individuals is developed and utilized to simulate the formation of consensus in society and price in market via excess between supply and demand. The effects of some time varying drives (harmonic and hyperbolic) are also investigated.

Socioeconophysics: Opinion dynamics for number of transactions and price, a trader based model
Tuncay, Çağlar (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2006-10-01)
Involving effects of media, opinion leader and other agents on the opinion of individuals of market society, a trader based model is developed and utilized to simulate price via supply and demand. Pronounced effects are considered with several weights and some personal differences between traders axe taken into account. Resulting time series and probabilty distribution function involving a power law for price come out similar to the real ones.
Stock mechanics: A general theory and method of energy conservation with applications on DJIA
Tuncay, Çağlar (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2006-11-01)
A new method, based on the original theory of conservation of sum of kinetic and potential energy defined for prices is proposed and applied on the Dow Jones Industrials Average (DJIA). The general trends averaged over months or years gave a roughly conserved total energy, with three different potential energies, i.e., positive definite quadratic, negative definite quadratic and linear potential energy for exponential rises (and falls), sinusoidal oscillations and parabolic trajectories, respectively. Corre...
Quantum genetic algorithm method in self-consistent electronic structure calculations of a quantum dot with many electrons
Sahin, M; Atav, U; Tomak, Mehmet (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2005-09-01)
In this study, we have calculated energy levels of an N-electron quantum dot. For this purpose, we have used two different techniques, matrix diagonalization and quantum genetic algorithm, to obtain simultaneous solutions of the coupled Schrodinger and Poisson equation in the Hartree approximation. We have determined single particle energy levels, total energy, chemical potential and capacitive energy. We have also compared the results, demonstrated the applicability of QGA to many-electron quantum systems ...
EXACTLY SOLVABLE EFFECTIVE MASS D-DIMENSIONAL SCHRODINGER EQUATION FOR PSEUDOHARMONIC AND MODIFIED KRATZER PROBLEMS
IKHDAİR, SAMEER; Sever, Ramazan (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2009-03-01)
The point canonical transformation (PCT) approach is used to solve the Schrodinger equation for an arbitrary dimension D with a power-law position-dependent effective mass (PDEM) distribution function for the pseudoharmonic and modified Kratzer (Mie-type) diatomic molecular potentials. In mapping the transformed exactly solvable D-dimensional (D >= 2) Schrodinger equation with constant mass into the effective mass equation by using a proper transformation, the exact bound state solutions including the energ...
Integrability of Kersten-Krasil'shchik coupled KdV-mKdV equations: singularity analysis and Lax pair
Karasu, Emine Ayşe; Yurdusen, I (AIP Publishing, 2003-04-01)
The integrability of a coupled KdV-mKdV system is tested by means of singularity analysis. The true Lax pair associated with this system is obtained by the use of prolongation technique. (C) 2003 American Institute of Physics.
