Stability of Milling Operations With Asymmetric Cutter Dynamics in Rotating Coordinates
Comak, Alptunc; Özşahin, Orkun; Altintas, Yusuf (2016-08-01)
High-speed machine tools have parts with both stationary and rotating dynamics. While spindle housing, column, and table have stationary dynamics, rotating parts may have both symmetric (i.e., spindle shaft and tool holder) and asymmetric dynamics (i.e., two-fluted end mill) due to uneven geometry in two principal directions. This paper presents a stability model of dynamic milling operations with combined stationary and rotating dynamics. The stationary modes are superposed to two orthogonal directions in ...
Stability of acidified milk drinks: Comparison of high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) and thermal treatments
Tirpanci, Bige; Özel, Barış; Oztop, Mecit Halil; Alpas, Hami (2023-02-01)
There is a search for effective stabiliser activity and alternative pasteurisation techniques for acidified milk drinks (AMD). In the present study, AMD were prepared at three different pH (4.0, 4.5 and 5.0) and high methoxyl pectin (HMP) levels (0.2, 0.5 and 0.8%) by thermal (75 °C, 15 min) and high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) (100, 300 and 500 MPa, 5 min) treatments. To achieve minimum steric stability, 0.5% HMP was required. HMP at 0.5%, pH 4.0 and 4.5, produced high protein solubility (60–70%), low stora...
Stability in non-autonomous periodic systems with grazing stationary impacts
Akhmet, Marat (2017-01-01)
This paper examines impulsive non-autonomous periodic systems whose surfaces of discontinuity and impact functions are not depending on the time variable. The W-map which alters the system with variable moments of impulses to that with fixed moments and facilitates the investigations, is presented. A particular linearizion system with two compartments is utilized to analyze stability of a grazing periodic solution. A significant way to keep down a singularity in linearizion is demonstrated. A concise review...
