We investigate the supernova remnant (SNR) 3C 397 and its neighboring pulsar PSR J1906+0722 in high energy gamma rays by using nearly six years of archival data of Large Area Telescope on board Fermi Gamma Ray Space Telescope (Fermi-LAT). The off-pulse analysis of gamma-ray flux from the location of PSR J1906+0722 reveals an excess emission which is found to be very close to the radio location of 3C 397. Here, we present the preliminary results of this gamma-ray analysis of 3C 397 and PSR J1906+0722.

OBSERVATIONS OF THE SHELL-TYPE SUPERNOVA REMNANT CASSIOPEIA A AT TeV ENERGIES WITH VERITAS
Acciari, V. A.; et. al. (IOP Publishing, 2010-05-01)
We report on observations of very high energy gamma rays from the shell-type supernova remnant (SNR) Cassiopeia A with the Very Energetic Radiation Imaging Telescope Array System stereoscopic array of four imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes in Arizona. The total exposure time for these observations is 22 hr, accumulated between September and November of 2007. The gamma-ray source associated with the SNR Cassiopeia A was detected above 200 GeV with a statistical significance of 8.3 sigma. The estimated...
Measurement of the Z gamma production cross section in pp collisions at 8 TeV and search for anomalous triple gauge boson couplings
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2015-04-01)
The cross section for the production of Z gamma in proton-proton collisions at 8 TeV is measured based on data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 fb(-1). Events with an oppositely-charged pair of muons or electrons together with an isolated photon are selected. The differential cross section as a function of the photon transverse momentum is measured inclusively and exclusively, where the exclusive selection applies a veto on central jets. The observ...
Measurement of electroweak production of two jets in association with a Z boson in proton-proton collisions at root s=8 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2015-02-01)
The purely electroweak (EW) cross section for the production of two jets in association with a Z boson, in proton-proton collisions at root s = 8 TeV, is measured using data recorded by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1). The electroweak cross section for the lljj final state (with l = e or mu and j representing the quarks produced in the hard interaction) in the kinematic region defined by M-ll > 50 GeV, M-jj > 120 GeV, transverse momentum p(Tj) > 2...
Discovery of an OB runaway star inside SNR S147
Dincel, B.; Neuhaeuser, R.; Yerli, Sinan Kaan; ANKAY, AŞKIN; Tetzlaff, N.; Torres, G.; Mugrauer, M. (2015-04-21)
We present first results of a long-term study: Searching for OB-type runaway stars inside supernova remnants (SNRs). We identified spectral types and measured radial velocities by optical spectroscopic observations and we found an early type runaway star inside SNR S147. HD 37424 is a B0.5V-type star with a peculiar velocity of 74 +/- 8 kms(-1). Tracing back the past trajectories via Monte Carlo simulations, we found that HD 37424 was located at the same position as the central compact object, PSR J0538+281...
Search for TeV emission from the region around PSR B1706-44 with the HESS experiment
Aharonian, F; et. al. (EDP Sciences, 2005-03-01)
The region around PSR B1706 - 44 has been observed with the HESS imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes in 2003. No evidence for gamma-ray emission in the TeV range was found at the pulsar position or at the radio arc which corresponds to the supernova remnant G343.1 - 2.3. The 99% confidence level flux upper limit at the pulsar position is F-ul( E > 350 GeV) = 1.4 x 10(-12) s(-1) cm(-2) assuming a power law (dN/dE proportional to E-Gamma) with photon index of Gamma = 2.5 and F-ul( E > 500 GeV) = 1.3 x 10...
