The synthesis and characterization of a unique (electro)-chemiluminescent monomer based on a terthienyl system, and its corresponding polymer which is the first example of an electro-active chemiluminescent polymer bearing a pyridazine appendage, are described.

A monomer 2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1-p-tolyl-1H-pyrrole was synthesized via reaction of 1,4-di(2-thienyl)-1,4-butanedione and p-toluidine in the presence of catalytical amount of p-toluenesulfonic acid. One-pot synthesis of 5-ferrocenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles via the reaction between 3-ferrocenylpropynal and amidoximes is described. 3-Ferrocenylpropynal reacts with a variety of amidoximes in the presence of KOH in refluxing dioxane to afford a broad range of 5-ferrocenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole derivatives. The synthesis and characterization of a previously unknown, rare organometallic-phosphate complex, {[Bu4N][(1,5-COD)Ir.HPO4]}(n) (1), is described.
