Total Antioxidant Capacity and Phenolic Content of Pasteurized and UHT-Treated Cow Milk Samples Marketed in Turkey

In this study, UHT-treated (a total of 39 samples with 17 full-fat, 17 semi-fat and 5 skim milk) and pasteurized (5 full-fat) milk samples from different trademarks were obtained from national market chains, which constitute the majority of the Turkey’s pasteurized and UHT milk market. Total antioxidant capacities and phenolic contents of milk samples were determined by the 2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) (ABTS) and Folin-Ciocalteu (FC) methods, respectively. Mean total phenolic con...

Total outage capacity of randomly-spread coded-CDMA with linear multiuser receivers over multipath fading channels
Ertug, O; Sayrac, B; Baykal, Buyurman; Yucel, MD (2003-07-03)
We address in this paper the derivation and analysis of the outage spectral efficiencies achievable with linear multiuser receivers over randomly-spread multipath fading time-varying coded-CDMA channels. The basis of the derivations is the use of non-asymptotic average eigenvalue densities of random cross-correlation matrices. The analysis give important clues on the achievable capacity with linear multiuser receivers under non-ergodic transmission situations.
Relative Photon-to-Carrier Efficiencies of Alternating Nanolayers of Zinc Phthalocyanine and C-60 Films Assessed by Time-Resolved Terahertz Spectroscopy
Esentürk, Okan; Lane, Paul A.; Heilweil, Edwin J. (American Chemical Society (ACS), 2009-10-29)
Multilayer and 1:1 blended films of zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) and buckminsterfullerene (C-60) were investigated as model active layers for solar cells by time-resolved terahertz spectroscopy (TRTS). Relative photon-to-carrier efficiencies were determined from ultrafast decay dynamics of photogenerated carriers using 400 and 800 nm excitation for delay times up to 0.5 ns. The findings are in good agreement with reported solar-cell device measurements, and the results exhibit a near linear increase of the re...
