We address in this paper the derivation and analysis of the outage spectral efficiencies achievable with linear multiuser receivers over randomly-spread multipath fading time-varying coded-CDMA channels. The basis of the derivations is the use of non-asymptotic average eigenvalue densities of random cross-correlation matrices. The analysis give important clues on the achievable capacity with linear multiuser receivers under non-ergodic transmission situations.

Maximum total ergodic spectral efficiency of randomly-spread coded-CDMA with linear multiuser receivers over multipath fading channels
Ertug, Z; Unal, BS; Baykal, Buyurman; Yucel, MD (2003-12-05)
We analyze the total ergodic spectral efficiency and sum-rates error-exponents of randomly-spread CDMA systems with diversity-combining linear multiuser receivers over time-varying frequency-selective multipath Rayleigh/Ricean fading channels. The basis of our analysis mainly being the joint/average eigenvalue density of the random cross-correlation matrices, our focus is on equal-rate/equal-energy identical users with statistically i.i.d. channels. The upper-bound ergodic spectral efficiency and the corres...
Comparison of TSTD and STBCs Over Block-Fading and Time-Varying MISO Channels
Koken, Erman; Yılmaz, Ali Özgür (2012-04-04)
This paper presents a comparison between two transmit diversity schemes, namely space-time coding and time-switched transmit diversity (TSTD) over block-fading and time-varying multi-input single-output (MISO) channels with various channel parameters. The schemes are concatenated with outer channel codes in order to achieve spatio-temporal diversity. The analytical results are derived for the error performances of the systems and simulation results as well as outage probabilities are provided. It is demonst...
Computational Electromagnetic Analysis of Deformed Nanowires Using the Multilevel Fast Multipole Algorithm
Yilmaz, Akif; Karaosmanoglu, Bariscan; Ergül, Özgür Salih (2015-02-16)
We consider computational analysis of deformed nanowires and their arrays using a full-wave simulation environment based on integral-equation formulations and the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA). Without requiring any periodicity assumptions, MLFMA allows for fast and accurate simulations of complex nanowire structures with three-dimensional geometries and random deformations. We present the results of hundreds of simulations, where deformed nanowires are considered as isolated, as well as in ar...
A Low-Complexity Policy for Outage Probability Minimization With an Energy Harvesting Transmitter
Isikman, Arif Onder; Yüksel Turgut, Ayşe Melda; Gunduz, Deniz (2017-04-01)
Outage probability in an energy harvesting (EH) block-fading communication system is studied in the finitehorizon online setting. First, the offline version of the problem is considered, and formulated as a mixed integer linear program (MILP). Then, the infinite-horizon online problem (IIL) is considered relaxing the battery constraints. Solutions of these two problems provide lower bounds on the finite-horizon online problem, for which we provide a low-complexity heuristic scheme, called the fixed threshol...
Measurement of differential top-quark-pair production cross sections in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2013-03-01)
Normalised differential top-quark-pair production cross sections are measured in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV at the LHC with the CMS detector using data recorded in 2011 corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb(-1). The measurements are performed in the lepton + jets decay channels (e + jets and mu + jets) and the dilepton decay channels (e(+)e(-), mu(+)mu(-), and mu(+/-)e(-/+)). The t (t) over bar differential cross section is measured as a function of kinematic properties ...
