Efficient design procedure is introduced for the design of miniaturized contiguous band manifold-coupled multiplexer using the combination of the circuit-full-wave-based optimization in this study. Systematic methodology is based on the design of miniaturized channel filters using circuit model extraction and H-plane manifold network with hybrid optimization. The multiplexer is firstly analyzed in circuit level, and relevant lengths between channel filters and the lengths between each channel filters to manifold junction are determined meticulously to compensate for the channel interaction and mismatching effects of individual channels. Then, full-wave model is constructed and simulated by using corresponding length values. This method has been applied for the design of six-channel contiguous band waveguide multiplexer as an illustration. The obtained results show the efficiency and validity of the proposed method.

Vural, Elif (2010-06-28)
The characterization of signals and images in manifolds often lead to efficient dimensionality reduction algorithms based on manifold distance computation for analysis or classification tasks. We propose in this paper a method for the discretization of signal manifolds given in a parametric form. We present an iterative algorithm for the selection of samples on the manifold that permits to minimize the average error in the manifold distance computation. Experimental results with image appearance manifolds d...
Parametric Urban Design Thinking: Shared Patterns in Design by Algorithm and Design by Drawing
Çalışkan, Olgu; Ongun, Gokhan (2021-12-01)
The paper suggests a focused examination of the processes of drafting-based design and parametric design in urbanism. It discusses how spatial design's settled cognition would differ by using algorithmic systems through the altered relationships between the basic operations in design. To reveal the commonalities and distinctions between the two design methods, the authors present the detailed documentation of the workshop series, which experimented with both techniques within similar design contexts. By the...
Layout optimization of trusses using simulated annealing
Hasançebi, Oğuzhan (2000-09-08)
This paper addresses to the development of a simulated annealing (SA) based solution algorithm which is automated to achieve the simultaneous optimum design of truss type structures with respect to size, shape and topology design variables. The proposed algorithm is designed in such a way that together with applicability to practical design problems, it is also aimed at producing efficient and improved design solutions for the problems of interest. From the practicality point of view, the task is chosen as ...
Approximation of pattern transformation manifolds with parametric dictionaries
Vural, Elif (2011-07-12)
The construction of low-dimensional models explaining high-dimensional signal observations provides concise and efficient data representations. In this paper, we focus on pattern transformation manifold models generated by in-plane geometric transformations of 2D visual patterns. We propose a method for computing a manifold by building a representative pattern such that its transformation manifold accurately fits a set of given observations. We present a solution for the progressive construction of the repr...
Capacitive cmos readout circuits for high performance mems accelerometers
Kepenek, Reha; Külah, Haluk; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2008)
This thesis presents the development of high resolution, wide dynamic range sigma-delta type readout circuits for capacitive MEMS accelerometers. Designed readout circuit employs fully differential closed loop structure with digital output, achieving high oversampling ratio and high resolution. The simulations of the readout circuit together with the accelerometer sensor are performed using the models constructed in Cadence and Matlab Simulink environments. The simulations verified the stability and proper ...
