EXOTIC D-QUARK DECAY WITH GLUON EMISSION IN SUPERSTRING THEORIES

1990-01-01
The decay process D → dg is investigated in the framework of SUL (2) x UY (1) x UY' (1) superstring theories. The width of this decay is calculated, and its dependence on the D-quark mass is investigated. A comparative analysis of different D-quark decay modes is carried out

Critical behaviour of the specific heat calculated using the Raman frequencies of the lattice and internal modes near the lambda-phase transition in NH4Br
Sen, S.; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (Elsevier BV, 2007-05-27)
We calculate here the specific heat of NH4Br using our Raman frequency shifts for the lattice mode Of nu(7) TA (56 cm(-1)) and the internal mode Of nu(2) (1684 cm(-1)) near its lambda-phase transition (T-lambda = 234 K, P = 0). By analyzing our Raman frequency shifts, values of alpha = 0. 19 (T < T-lambda, and T > T-lambda) for the lattice mode, and alpha = 0.45 (T < T-lambda) and alpha = 0.57 (T > T-lambda) for the internal mode, are used as the values of the critical exponent for the specific heat to pred...
Angular analysis of the decay B+ -> K+mu(+)mu(-) in proton-proton collisions at root s=8 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2018-12-01)
The angular distribution of the flavor-changing neutral current decay B+ -> K+mu(+)mu(-) is studied in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. The analysis is based on data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.5 fb(-1). The forward-backward asymmetry A(FB) of the dimuon system and the contribution F-H from the pseudoscalar, scalar, and tensor amplitudes to the decay width are measured as a function of the dimuon mass squared. The m...
CP violation in polarized B -> pi l(+)l(-) and B -> pl(+)l(-) decays
Erkol, G; Wagenaar, JW; Turan, Gürsevil (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2005-05-01)
We study the decay rate and the CP violating asymmetry of the exclusive B -> pi l(+)l(-) and B -> rho l(+)l(-) decays in the case where one of the final leptons is polarized. We calculate the contributions coming from the individual polarization states in order to identify a so-called wrong sign decay, which is a decay with a given polarization, whose width and CP asymmetry are smaller as compared to the unpolarized one. The results are presented for electrons and tau leptons. We observe that in particular ...
Composition dependence of lattice parameters and band gap energies of thallium based layered mixed crystals
Hasanlı, Nızamı (2015-07-01)
Compositional dependence of lattice parameters and unit cell volumes of TlMeX2-type (Me = Ga or In and X = S or Se) layered mixed crystals with monoclinic structure has been studied by X-ray diffraction technique. It is revealed that the lattice parameters of TlGa1-xInxSe2, TlGa(S1-xSex)(2), TlGa1-xInxS2 and TlIn(Se1-xSx)(2) mixed crystals increase due to the substitution of gallium atoms by indium and sulfur atoms by selenium. Moreover, the absorption edges of these mixed crystals have been investigated th...
Rare B->K*l(+)l(-) decay in light cone QCD
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa; Özpineci, Altuğ (1997-10-01)
We investigate the transition form factors for the B-->K*l(+)l(-) (l = mu, tau) decay in light cone QCD. It is found that the light cone and three-point QCD sum rule analyses for some of the form factors for the decay B-->K*l(+)l(-) lead to absolutely different q(2) dependence. The invariant dilepton mass distributions for the B-->K*mu(+)mu(-) and B-->K*tau(+)tau(-) decays and final lepton longitudinal polarization asymmetry, which includes both short-and long-distance contributions, are also calculated.
