A singularly perturbed differential equation with piecewise constant argument of generalized type
Akhmet, Marat; Mirzakulova, Aziza (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, 2018-01-01)
The paper considers the extension of Tikhonov Theorem for singularly perturbed differential equation with piecewise constant argument of generalized type. An approximate solution of the problem has been obtained. A new phenomenon of humping has been observed in the boundary layer area. An illustrative example with simulations is provided.
Model theory of derivation spaces
Kasal, Özcan; Pierce, David; Department of Mathematics (2010)
In this thesis, the notion of the derivation spaces is introduced. In a suitable two-sorted language, the first order theory of these structures is studied. In particular, it is shown that the theory is not companionable. In the last section, the language is expanded by predicate symbols for a dependence relation. In this language it is shown that the extension of the corresponding theory has a model companion. It is shown that the model companion is a complete, unstable theory which does not eliminate quan...
A classification of equivariant principal bundles over nonsingular toric varieties
Biswas, Indranil; Dey, Arijit; Poddar, Mainak (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2016-12-01)
We classify holomorphic as well as algebraic torus equivariant principal G-bundles over a nonsingular toric variety X, where G is a complex linear algebraic group. It is shown that any such bundle over an affine, nonsingular toric variety admits a trivialization in equivariant sense. We also obtain some splitting results.
On equivariant Serre problem for principal bundles
Biswas, Indranil; Dey, Arijit; Poddar, Mainak (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2018-08-01)
Let E-G be a Gamma-equivariant algebraic principal G-bundle over a normal complex affine variety X equipped with an action of Gamma, where G and Gamma are complex linear algebraic groups. Suppose X is contractible as a topological Gamma-space with a dense orbit, and x(0) is an element of X is a Gamma-fixed point. We show that if Gamma is reductive, then E-G admits a Gamma-equivariant isomorphism with the product principal G-bundle X x rho E-G(x(0)), where rho : Gamma -> G is a homomorphism between algebraic...
A semismooth newton method for generalized semi-infinite programming problems
Tezel Özturan, Aysun; Karasözen, Bülent; Department of Mathematics (2010)
Semi-infinite programming problems is a class of optimization problems in finite dimensional variables which are subject to infinitely many inequality constraints. If the infinite index of inequality constraints depends on the decision variable, then the problem is called generalized semi-infinite programming problem (GSIP). If the infinite index set is fixed, then the problem is called standard semi-infinite programming problem (SIP). In this thesis, convergence of a semismooth Newton method for generalize...
